Key Storylines
- Giannis injury concern: The biggest issue for Milwaukee right now is Giannis Antetokounmpo’s groin strain. There’s growing speculation he could miss 1–2 weeks. Without him, the Bucks lose their anchor on offense and defense and they will have to overcome that to win this game on their home floor.
- Bucks recent form: Milwaukee has dropped three of its last four games. A couple of those losses were understandable, as there is no shame in losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers. But a loss to the Charlotte Hornets over that time frame is concerning.
- 76ers’ health and rotation: Philadelphia isn’t injury‑free either. Paul George and Joel Embiid are listed as day‑to‑day and we don't know what we'll get from them even if they do suit up. Tyrese Maxey could play a leading role if the stars are limited. Kelly Oubre Jr. and Adem Bona are also listed as out for Philly.
- Playoff implications: It is early in the season, but every game counts. The 76ers and Bucks are both sitting near the play-in tournament spots in the Eastern Conference and need wins in a hurry to avoid having to chase the leaders in the conference as the season goes on.
- Back-to-back: This is the second night of a back-to-back for the Sixers after they lost to the Toronto Raptors last night. That could hurt their chances in this game, even if Embiid and George are available.

Final Thoughts
I understand the temptation to lay the points with the Sixers here, especially if Embiid and George are able to play. But I think that the Bucks will keep this game close at home even without Antetokounmpo on the floor. The Bucks are at home and have a rest advantage in this matchup, which should help them to cover the number, or even win this game outright.
