Game Snapshot
- Matchup: Philadelphia 76ers @ LA Clippers
- Date & Time: Monday, February 2, 10:00 PM ET
- Venue: Intuit Dome, Inglewood, CA
- Broadcast: Peacock
Key Storylines
- Paul George is suspended for 25 games after a drug policy violation, removing a key two-way piece for Philadelphia and elevating minutes for Kelly Oubre Jr., VJ Edgecombe, and other forwards.
- Joel Embiid recently posted 39 points and 11 rebounds against New Orleans, a reminder that LA’s interior has its hands full even with Ivica Zubac and Brook Lopez in the rotation.
- Tyrese Maxey continues to do the primary creation for the 76ers at 29.2 PPG and 6.9 APG, while rookie VJ Edgecombe has had a productive rookie season. Edgecombe has seen his usage decrease over the last couple of weeks, but that could change for the better with George out of the Philly lineup.
- Kawhi Leonard is back producing at an All-NBA level around 27.7 PPG with elite efficiency, and James Harden is steering the Clippers’ offense at 25.4 PPG and 8.1 APG. However, Harden was out due to personal reasons on Sunday night and is questionable for this game, while Leonard might not play on the second night of a back-to-back.
- Playoff context: Philadelphia enters this game in sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings, while the Clippers are in ninth place in the West. Both of these teams are playing well of late and will try to continue their winning ways to help their playoff prospects as the All-Star break nears.
Head-to-Head & Betting Trends
- Past meeting this season: The 76ers defeated the Clippers 110-108 in Philadelphia on November 17. Maxey scored 39, while Harden led LA’s scoring and Leonard was sidelined that night.
- The Sixers are 27-21 against the spread going into this contest.
- The Clippers are 23-24 against the spread on the season.
- The over is 25-23 in Sixers games this year.
- The under has gone 24-23 in Clippers games this season.
76ers vs Clippers Model Projection

Final Thoughts
This should be a tight game from start to finish. I give a slight edge to the Sixers thanks to their rest advantage and the fact that we could see Harden and/or Leonard miss this one for the Clippers. While the loss of Paul George is important for Philly, the presence of Embiid on the floor is more important for them and I think we will see the Sixers come away with a cover and possibly an outright win on the road in this matchup.
