The Oklahoma City Thunder and Phoenix Suns will play in Game 4 of their first-round playoff series on Monday with the series being incredibly one-sided so far. Oklahoma City holds a commanding 3-0 lead after a 121-109 victory in Game 3, fueled by a dominant 42-point outing from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Phoenix now returns home facing elimination, while the Thunder have a chance to close out the series and extend their run as defending champions. Here, I break down this matchup and make my Thunder vs Suns Game 4 prediction for Monday night.
The Oklahoma City Thunder enter Game 4 looking to finish a sweep after winning the first three games by comfortable margins. The Thunder have now won 11 straight first-round playoff games and continue to show elite efficiency on both ends of the floor. Their +11.1 net rating during the season highlights how dominant they have been across the board.
Phoenix, meanwhile, is searching for answers. The Suns have struggled to contain Oklahoma City’s offense and have not found consistent scoring outside of a few individual efforts. Devin Booker has been limited in the series, and the team’s defensive issues have been exposed repeatedly. Facing elimination, urgency is high, but execution remains a major concern.
Phoenix Suns
Oklahoma City Thunder
Oklahoma City has controlled every aspect of this series, from shot efficiency to defensive pressure. Even with injuries affecting parts of their rotation, the Thunder continue to produce at a high level thanks to elite guard play and depth. Their offensive rating and consistent ball movement have overwhelmed Phoenix.
The Suns face a difficult path to victory here. While desperation can sometimes spark a strong response, the numbers suggest a gap that has not narrowed through three games. Unless Booker delivers an elite scoring performance and Phoenix finds defensive stability, the Thunder are positioned to close out the series. Laying the points with Oklahoma City is my best bet for Game 4 of this series, which should end tonight.
