The Lakers are riding a three‑game win streak, most recently defeating the New Orleans Pelicans on the road on Tuesday night. Their offense is led by Luka Dončić, who is averaging over 33 points, nearly 9 assists, and nearly 8 rebounds per game. However, Los Angeles has some notable absences that could affect their chances in this game. Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura are out, while Gabe Vincent is questionable. We could also see LeBron James' workload diminished on the second game of a back-to-back. These injuries could hamper their ability to keep pace with San Antonio’s pace and space scoring. The Lakers are averaging about 117 points per game but their defensive rating suggests they can be exploited by explosive offenses.
The Spurs are coming off a road loss to the Memphis Grizzlies last night, despite a strong performance from Victor Wembanyama, who scored 30 points off the bench in limited minutes. San Antonio has played high‑tempo basketball of late, using their ability to push pace and spread the floor to create good shots consistently. De’Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle provide dynamic guard play, which pairs so well with what Wemby can do. Wembanyama’s minutes restriction makes his status for Wednesday an important thing to watch. It is entirely possible that the Spurs rest him for this game, while Devin Vassell is questionable after sitting on Tuesday. San Antonio’s 12‑5 home record is impressive and they will try to improve on it here.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Luka Dončić | Over 35.5 Points ATS PRO |
Victor Wembanyama | Under 20.5 Points ATS PRO |
De’Aaron Fox | Over 19.5 Points ATS PRO |
Score Projection: Spurs 118 – Lakers 113
Win Probability: Spurs 58%, Lakers 42%
San Antonio should get the win at home on Wednesday night. But I'm not convinced that they do it by any sort of huge margin. Bettors should monitor the health status of James, Wembanyama, and the other key players in this contest. I'll take the points with the Lakers knowing what we know currently about both teams.
