Key Storylines
- The Clippers enter at 5–16, having lost their last five games. Their offense has averaged just 112.3 points per game (26th in the league) while giving up 118.8 points per game, good for 22nd in defensive efficiency. Key rotational players like Bradley Beal (out for season), Derrick Jones Jr., Bogdan Bogdanović, and others remain unavailable. Ivica Zubac remains a rebounding anchor, but that alone won’t carry them. James Harden (26.9 PPG, 8.4 APG) remains their go-to scorer, and Kawhi Leonard (26.4 PPG) still produces, but the overall lack of cohesion and supporting cast has been costly.
- For Atlanta, the spotlight is on Jalen Johnson, who continues asserting himself as the team’s do‑it‑all forward. That’s especially important with star guard Trae Young sidelined with a knee issue and Kristaps Porzingis out due to illness. Johnson posted 29 points, 13 boards, and 7 assists in a recent game, with teammate Nickeil Alexander‑Walker chipping in 26, including six threes. The Hawks have displayed surprising resilience and fluidity despite all of their injury issues.
- The Hawks are 4-4 at home so far this season and will try to take advantage of the struggles of the Clippers on the road. The Clippers are 2-9 on the road to this point in the season and they have looked completely lost away from Intuit Dome.

Final Thoughts
Given their roster limitations, recent slide, and lack of balance beyond their stars, the Clippers are unlikely to keep up with the Hawks’ energy and depth on Wednesday night. I'm going to lay the points with Atlanta here, as they should get the better of a Clippers team that has been one of the worst in the NBA on the road for the year.
