Key Storylines
- Form and records: As of Thursday, Brooklyn sits tied for the second-fewest wins in the NBA this season with just 13 wins on the season. Orlando is 25-24 and 14-8 at home. Orlando enters this game in eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings and they need to take advantage of games like this one to help themselves in the playoff race in the East.
- Injuries and availability: Franz Wagner has been handled conservatively since his December high ankle sprain and recent soreness. He is out here and indicators suggest the team could continue to be careful into February. Michael Porter Jr. has played through a minor MCL sprain and recently returned from personal leave, but he’s producing at an All-Star level. Cam Thomas is out for Brooklyn due to personal reasons, while Haywood Highsmith is out with a knee injury.
- Recent results: Brooklyn has lost two straight games by double-digits entering this one, most recently falling 125-109 to the Lakers and previously absorbing a lopsided loss in Detroit. Consistency remains the big question for Brooklyn. Orlando lost two straight road games to elite Western Conference competition, falling against the Thunder and Spurs. This game is a great chance for them to get back on track.

Final Thoughts
The Magic should be able to get back on track after a rough couple of games by winning big in this matchup. Expect Orlando to take advantage of the absences of Thomas and Highsmith here, while Orlando shouldn't be hurt too significantly by the absence of Wagner, given their depth advantages throughout this matchup. I'll lay the points with the Magic here, as they should get back into the win column in convincing fashion.
