COLLEGE BASKETBALL

NC State enters with the stronger overall record and a high-scoring offense, averaging 83.2 points per game with efficient shooting across the floor. The Wolfpack also bring solid perimeter shooting at 38.8 percent and strong production on the glass at 34.5 rebounds per game. Even so, recent form is less clean, with NC State on a two-game slide, which matters when a team is being priced as if it should win comfortably. Campbell’s season record is more modest, but the Camels have been a respectable cover team and have kept games competitive enough to make a large market favorite vulnerable to variance. Their overall home split has been much stronger than their road mark, and that contrast helps explain why a road upset is a low-probability but non-trivial outcome. The key question is whether NC State can separate early enough to justify the market’s confidence; if not, Campbell has a path to steal the game late.
NC State has the better overall roster profile and the stronger offensive numbers, but the market is pushing the Wolfpack to an extreme price that leaves little room for upside on the home side. Campbell’s better cover rate and the fact that NC State comes in on a short skid make the underdog worth a small swing in a game that should still be competitive. The projected result is NC State 79, Campbell 72, with Campbell carrying the only position that clears the value threshold.
