UCF vs Oklahoma State Prediction & Preview: Can Cowboys Extend Winning Streak?

Updated October 9, 2026

No. 18 Oklahoma State welcomes UCF to Boone Pickens Stadium in Stillwater on Saturday, October 10, 2026, with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m. ET. The Cowboys enter at 3-1 overall and 1-0 in Big 12 play, having won three straight games, including an upset of Oregon. UCF stands at 3-2 and 1-1 in conference play after surrendering a 17-point lead in last week's 27-17 loss to Houston. Oklahoma State has the more explosive offense and home-field advantage, but the Knights have played competitive football against ranked opponents so far this year and can't be counted out.
Price vs. Projection
Polymarket's latest available pricing lists UCF +10.5 at 50¢, representing a 50% implied probability of the Knights covering the spread. Oklahoma State -10.5 is priced at 51¢, while the game's total is set at 53.5 points. My matchup-based projection assigns UCF a 54% chance of finishing within 10 points or winning outright. That creates a 4% edge at the listed price, with value remaining through 53¢.
UCF Should Hang Tough
The opportunity comes from how UCF has performed against stronger competition. The Knights lost 12-7 at Pittsburgh and 27-17 at Houston, keeping both games within the current spread despite struggling offensively. Oklahoma State is understandably favored, but its defense allows 158.8 rushing yards per game, creating an opening for UCF's ground attack. The Cowboys also average a turnover margin of -1.0 per game, while UCF sits at +1.0. Those differences make a close game more realistic than Oklahoma State's offensive statistics alone suggest.

Why Our Model Sees Value:

“Oklahoma State's offensive production and UCF's injury concerns have overshadowed the Knights' ability to remain competitive against quality opponents. UCF's opportunistic defense and favorable rushing matchup create value at +10.5.”
Head coach Eric Morris has transformed Oklahoma State's offense into one of the nation's most productive units. The Cowboys rank second nationally with 548.3 total yards per game, including 327 passing yards and 221.3 rushing yards. They also average 37.3 points per contest.
Quarterback Drew Mestemaker leads the offense with 1,271 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. He was outstanding against West Virginia on September 26, throwing for 389 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-24 victory. Running back Caleb Hawkins added 180 rushing yards, while receiver Wyatt Young collected 192 receiving yards.
UCF cannot afford to let this offense control the game from the opening possession. However, Mestemaker has thrown five interceptions this season, and Young was listed as questionable during the week.
Despite last week's collapse against Houston, UCF has shown it can disrupt talented offenses. The Knights allow 17.6 points per game and have recorded six interceptions, tied for 11th nationally.
The matchup between Mestemaker and UCF's defensive backs will be particularly important. Safety Demari Henderson has two interceptions, while the team's experienced defensive backs have demonstrated an ability to capitalize on mistakes.
Against Houston, UCF prevented the Cougars from scoring throughout the first half. Repeating that effort for all four quarters will be difficult in this UCF vs Oklahoma State matchup, but creating turnovers could prevent Oklahoma State from building a comfortable lead.
Running back Duke Watson offers UCF its clearest path to offensive success. Watson averages 8.2 yards per carry, ranking third nationally, and has produced 15 runs of at least 10 yards.
Oklahoma State ranks 95th nationally against the run, making Watson an important part of Scott Frost's offensive approach. Successful early-down rushing attempts would allow UCF to shorten the game and keep Mestemaker on the sideline.
Quarterback health remains a concern. Starter Alonza Barnett III has been ruled out, leaving Keyone Jenkins expected to lead the offense. Jenkins threw for 253 yards against Houston and previously completed 19 of 20 passes against TCU.
Oklahoma State can remain unbeaten in conference play with another victory, strengthening its position among the Big 12 futures contenders. UCF needs a positive response after losing to Houston, particularly with another difficult conference matchup against BYU approaching.
History favors the Knights, who have won both previous meetings. UCF defeated Oklahoma State 45-3 in 2023 and earned a 17-14 victory last season. This will be their first meeting in Stillwater.
The Cowboys should generate enough offense to win, especially against a depleted UCF roster. However, Watson's rushing ability and the Knights' capacity to force turnovers provide a credible path to staying competitive. UCF +10.5 at 50¢ is our recommended prediction.
