Old Dominion heads into Statesboro as a heavy favorite in this weekend's Sun Belt matchup against Georgia Southern. The Monarchs (7‑3) have won three games in a row going into this weekend, while the Eagles (5‑5) will need a big performance at home to pull off an upset and get to bowl-eligible status. Before kickoff from Georgia, you can find my Old Dominion vs Georgia Southern prediction below.
Pick: Old Dominion -9.5
Confidence: ★★★★☆

Old Dominion’s offense is led by Colton Joseph, who has thrown for 2,378 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 9 interceptions this season. He’s a dual-threat, contributing 711 rushing yards and 11 rushing touchdowns along with his passing output. His versatility gives ODU flexibility in play‑calling and makes him a constant threat. Georgia Southern's JC French IV leads the charge at quarterback with 2,293 passing yards and 17 touchdowns. While French has been productive, he’ll be tested here by a Monarchs defense that excels at creating pressure and limiting big plays.
We should see Old Dominion win and cover the spread in this contest. Georgia Southern needs a win to get to bowl season. But not every team that needs a win late in a season is a good bet, as they would already have enough wins if they were a good enough team to flip the switch and win games in that way. I'll lay the points with the Monarchs on Saturday afternoon.
