Pick: Duke -20.5 ATS PRO
Confidence: ★★★★☆
Statistic | Syracuse | Duke |
|---|---|---|
Points per game | 76.5 | 82.2 |
Points allowed per game | 72.2 | 63.1 |
Team Field Goal % | 47% | 50% |
Rebounds Per Game | 35.0 | 39.6 |
Assists Per Game | 13.3 | 16.8 |
Duke’s statistical advantages are clear across many traditional metrics, especially on the defensive end, where they hold opponents to just over 63 points per game while still putting up more than 80 themselves. Syracuse has found offensive success recently but still trails in efficiency and perimeter shooting compared to Duke’s balanced attack. Rebounding and assist numbers also skew in Duke’s favor, signaling their ability to control tempo and possession.
Duke and Syracuse have met 23 times previously, with the Blue Devils leading the series 17-6 and winning the last 10 straight meetings. In their last regular-season home game against Syracuse, Duke posted an 83-54 victory in February of the previous season, showcasing their interior scoring and defensive length. Syracuse’s recent success doesn’t erase the trend of Duke’s dominance in this matchup.
Score Projection: Syracuse 68 – Duke 89 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Syracuse 4%, Duke 96% ATS PRO
This Syracuse vs Duke showdown appears tilted heavily toward the Blue Devils based on recent form, statistical profiles, and historical wins. Duke’s balanced scoring, defensive efficiency, and homecourt advantage at Cameron Indoor Stadium give them multiple edges. Syracuse’s recent resilience is admirable, but slowing down Duke’s offensive flow and matching their overall consistency will be a tall task. I'm going to lay the points with Duke at home in this one.
