Game Snapshot
- Matchup: Cincinnati Bearcats @ Houston Cougars
- Date & Time: January 31, 2026, 12:00 PM ET
- Venue: Fertitta Center, Houston, Texas
- Broadcast: FOX
Key Storylines
- Current form: Houston has rebounded from its lone conference loss to Texas Tech last Saturday with a road win over TCU this week. The Cougars sit at 18-2 overall and 6-1 in Big 12 play. Cincinnati enters with a record of 11-10 and 3-5 in the Big 12, seeking a signature road result to go into February with some positive momentum.
- Star power: Houston freshman guard Kingston Flemings leads the Cougars at 17.5 PPG and 5.4 APG and recently erupted for 42 points against Texas Tech. Cincinnati’s 6-11 forward Baba Miller paces the Bearcats with 14.0 PPG and 10.7 RPG. The difference in this game will be the fact that Houston has more talent around their top player than Cincinnati does.
- Defensive identity: Houston allows 62.1 PPG and pressures passing lanes with athletes like Flemings and Joseph Tugler. Cincinnati leans on length with Miller and shot-blocker Moustapha Thiam. But that length might not be enough to break through against the elite defense of the Cougars.
- Odds board snapshot: The betting markets list Houston as a double-digit favorite in the -13.5 to -14.5 range, with a low total in the 130s. Houston is expected to win big here and hold Cincinnati to a low point total, according to the implications of those betting lines.

Final Thoughts
I am leaning toward the over as my best bet in this matchup in the Big 12. The Cougars should win by oduble-digits, but I think we will see Houston get what it wants against a mediocre Cincinnati defense, while the Bearcats will get just enough looks at the rim with their height to nudge this game over the low total from Houston.
