The Minnesota Lynx head to Chicago on Friday night looking to keep their strong early-season form rolling against a Sky team trying to stop a three-game slide. Minnesota has already beaten Chicago once in the last week, with these teams splitting their first two meetings of the season. Minnesota is favored on the road here, and you can find my Lynx vs Sky prediction for this contest below.
Minnesota enters the game at 5-2 and has won three straight contests, including a 96-81 victory over Atlanta in its most recent outing. The Lynx have scored at least 85 points in four of their last five games and continue to get balanced production throughout the rotation. Natasha Howard has been one of the biggest reasons for the fast start after arriving in free agency, while Courtney Williams and Kayla McBride continue to provide veteran scoring and playmaking.
Chicago has dropped three straight games and is coming off a rough 111-104 home loss to Toronto. The Sky can still score, but their defense has struggled badly during this recent skid. Chicago has allowed at least 85 points in four consecutive games, and the absence of Rickea Jackson due to a season-ending ACL injury has hurt their roster on both ends of the floor. Jackson had averaged 18.0 points per game before going down, leaving Skylar Diggins with even more offensive responsibility.
Chicago Sky
Minnesota Lynx
Minnesota enters this game in better overall form and looks deeper offensively right now. The Lynx are moving the ball well, shooting efficiently, and getting production from several players instead of relying on one scorer. Howard’s strong start has helped stabilize the frontcourt, and the backcourt combination of Williams, McBride, and Miles has consistently created open looks. My best bet for this matchup is for the Lynx to cover the spread as a favorite on the road.
