What does void mean on FanDuel? And how does the sportsbook handle payouts and refunds in these situations for straight bets and parlays? In this article, we’ll provide a complete breakdown of FanDuel’s void bet rules and answer some of the most common questions about how they work. Read our full FanDuel Review.
Canceled Event
First, if the sporting event you placed a wager on gets canceled or postponed, FanDuel will void your bet since there's no outcome to determine. This often happens due to unforeseen circumstances like weather conditions or travel issues.
Player Non-Participation
In addition, if you bet on a player prop and the athlete does not participate in the game at all (due to injury, illness, etc.), then FanDuel will void the bet and refund your stake.
Push or Tie
When the outcome of a bet results in a tie or push, such as when a team is favored by 3 points and wins by exactly 3 points, this results in neither a win nor a loss for the bettor. In such cases, the stake is typically returned to the bettor, and the bet is considered void.
Technical Glitches
In rare cases, if technical glitches occur (such as errors in odds calculation or processing of bets), FanDuel might void affected bets to maintain fairness and accuracy.
Violation of Terms
Lastly, if you violate any of the terms and conditions set by FanDuel, such as attempting to place bets from restricted regions or using fraudulent means to gain an advantage, your bets may be voided, and you could face further consequences, including account suspension or closure.
On FanDuel Sportsbook, "void" typically refers to a situation where a bet is canceled or deemed invalid for one reason or another. This could happen if there's a technical issue, if the event is postponed or canceled, or if there's some other problem that affects the outcome of the bet.
When a bet is voided on FanDuel or any other sportsbook, the stake is usually refunded to the bettor, and it's basically treated as if the wager was never made in the first place.
This way, bettors aren't unfairly affected by unforeseen circumstances, and the integrity of the betting process is maintained.
It's always a good idea to familiarize yourself with the specific rules and policies at FanDuel Sportsbook (more on that later) to understand how voided bets are handled in different situations.
Okay, so what exactly happens when FanDuel Sportsbook voids your bet? Do you get a refund? Well, it depends...
Here's a quick breakdown of how voided wagers are handled for straight bets, parlays, and bonus bets:
If you place a straight bet (such as a moneyline, point spread, or over/under total) and it's voided by FanDuel, you will automatically receive a 100% refund. The full amount of your stake will be returned to your account balance, and you can withdraw the funds or use them to place another wager.
For example, let's say you placed a $50 moneyline wager on the New York Yankees to win their series finale against the Boston Red Sox, but the game gets rained out. In this scenario, FanDuel would void your bet, and you would receive a $50 refund credited back to your account.
On the other hand, if one or more of the legs in your parlay bet are voided by FanDuel, the parlay will be adjusted accordingly. The voided leg(s) will be removed from the parlay, and the odds will be recalculated based on the remaining selections included.
For instance, if you built a +250 two-leg parlay with both selections at -115 odds, and one of the legs is voided, FanDuel would remove the voided leg from your parlay. The odds for the remaining leg would then be reset to -115 to determine your potential payout.
It's important to understand that you do not automatically receive a refund if one or more legs of your parlay are voided on FanDuel. You can still win or lose the wager based on the outcome of your other selections.
Now, let's say you place a wager at FanDuel Sportsbook using a bonus bet token, and it gets voided. What happens now? In this scenario, the bonus bet token will be returned to your account and available for use again unless it has already expired.
Then, just like usual, you won't be able to immediately withdraw the bonus bet token as cash. Instead, you'll need to wager it at least once before any potential winnings become eligible for withdrawal.
If your bet is voided at FanDuel Sportsbook and you don't quite understand why, here are a few of the different ways to handle the situation:
First, check the house rules provided by FanDuel Sportsbook. These rules outline how voided bets are handled, including the circumstances under which bets may be voided. Understanding these rules can help you determine if the void was justified or if there's a mistake.
Next, consider contacting customer support (via Live Chat, email, etc.) for assistance. FanDuel's support team can provide clarification on why your bet was voided and address any questions or concerns you may have. They can also guide you through the process of resolving the issue.
Lastly, if all else fails and you believe the voided bet was unjustified, you can file a dispute or complaint with FanDuel or your state's gambling authority (e.g., Michigan Gaming Control Board, New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, or the New York State Gaming Commission).
Just make sure to provide any relevant evidence or information to support your case, such as screenshots of the bet slip, transaction history, or communication with customer support.
You can usually find information about voided bets in your account transaction history or by contacting FanDuel's customer support.
Yes. If the player you bet on does not play a single minute of the game or event for any reason (such as injury, illness, or suspension), FanDuel will void the bet and refund your stake.
If one leg of your parlay bet is voided, the entire parlay bet is usually recalculated without the voided leg. This means that the odds and potential payout for the parlay will be adjusted based on the remaining legs of the bet.
Some bets on FanDuel may be temporarily "locked" due to real-time updates, such as odds adjustments after key events in live games, or platform maintenance to ensure accurate information. Bets can also lock if FanDuel detects unusual betting patterns or if geolocation issues prevent confirming a user’s location in a legal betting state.
A "void" in a parlay bet means one of the legs (individual bets) has been canceled, typically due to event cancellations, rule violations, or a player not participating. When this happens, FanDuel adjusts the parlay odds based on the remaining active legs, so the bet continues with recalculated odds instead of issuing a full refund.
Yes, if your bet is voided on FanDuel, you typically receive a refund of your stake, as though the bet was never placed. This applies to both straight bets and parlay legs; however, for parlays, only the voided leg is removed, and the odds adjust to reflect the remaining legs. In these cases, you still have a chance to win the parlay based on the outcome of the other active bets.
