Scrooge Casino might share a name with a famously stingy character, but it’s anything but tight-fisted. With a glowing 4.4-star rating on Trustpilot based on hundreds of reviews, this sweepstakes casino is trusted by players across the country. The welcome bonus—250 Sweeps Tokens and 2 million Gold Coins—sets the tone for an exciting gaming experience, featuring 200+ slots, table games, and much more.
In this Scrooge Casino review, I’ll draw from my experience reviewing 100+ social casinos to unpack what makes this site stand out. From its user-friendly design to its reliable prize redemption system and impressive game variety, you’ll find everything you need to know to decide if Scrooge is the right choice for your sweepstakes gaming journey. Let's dive in!
After my team's deep dive and getting a chance to test the sweepstakes site out for myself, I can confidently say that Scrooge is a solid option for online casino gaming.
I was really impressed with the social casino's wide selection of games, which includes slots, table games, video poker, keno, fish games, and more! Plus, I can appreciate the fact that they accept crypto for purchases and prize redemptions.
That said, there are a few drawbacks worth mentioning. For starters, I was a bit disappointed with the $100 minimum for cash prize redemptions, which is a bit steep compared to other similar platforms.
In addition, there is no mobile app available for iOS or Android devices, and you won't find any live dealer games on the website.
So, if you're not completely sold on Scrooge Casino and what it has to offer, no worries! Just check out our U.S. social casino guide for 2026 and see if you can find an option that works even better for you.

Pros
Cons
Scrooge is a free-to-play social casino that was first launched in 2023. It is named after Ebeneezer Scrooge, the iconic character from Charles Dickens' “A Christmas Carol.” Or more specifically, Scrooge McDuck, the beloved Disney character and uncle of Donald Duck.
Despite what you might initially think, Scrooge Casino is NOT a traditional gambling site or real-money online casino. Instead of wagering actual funds on the site, players use two types of virtual currencies: Gold Coins and Sweeps Tokens.
Yes...but probably not in the way you think. Allow me to explain!
Scrooge Casino does not offer real-money wagering on games or provide any actual gambling opportunities. The site is completely free to use, and you cannot make deposits or withdrawals on the platform.
However, Scrooge gives players a chance to win real cash prizes and other rewards using an innovative sweepstakes model. Once you have won at least 10,000 Sweeps Tokens, you can redeem them for a cash prize or digital gift card (with 100 tokens being redeemable for $1.00 in U.S. currency).
If you'd like to find out more specifics, we encourage you to take a look at the "Sweeps Rules" for Scrooge Casino.
Most social casinos and sweepstakes casinos provide a no-deposit bonus to attract new players and welcome them to the site...and Scrooge is no exception!
When you sign up today and finish registering for an account, you'll instantly receive 2 million Gold Coins (GC) and 250 Sweeps Tokens (ST) for free. Yes, you read that right! No initial deposit, purchase, or payment of any kind is required to claim these rewards.

During this Scrooge Casino review, I tested the sign-up bonus for myself. And I'm happy to report that the offer is 100% legitimate! All of the free Gold Coins and free Sweeps Tokens were awarded as promised, and I was able to start playing games without spending a dime.
In addition to the welcome offer, Scrooge Casino offers plenty of ongoing bonuses and promotions for everyday players. Here are a few of the different ways you can earn free coins on the site:
For the latest news and updates regarding bonus opportunities, you may want to go ahead and follow the casino's social media pages on Facebook and Twitter/X! This way, you won't miss out on any exciting promotions and special events.
Before we discuss the banking options at Scrooge, it's important to understand that this is not your typical "deposit and withdrawal" online casino. Players cannot add real-money funds to their account or directly cash out winnings on the site.
That said, you will always be able to purchase Gold Coins and redeem Sweeps Tokens for real prizes. Here's a quick breakdown of everything you need to know:
Unfortunately, Scrooge does not currently offer a mobile app for iOS or Android devices. So, for the time being, you'll need to access the social casino's website using the web browser (Safari, Chrome, etc.) on your smartphone, tablet, or any other device of your choice.
For this review, I visited the Scrooge Casino site on my iPhone. And I was pretty impressed with the overall user experience! The website was mobile-friendly and adapted well to the smaller screen size, making navigation easy and intuitive.
Furthermore, the layout was clean and well-organized. There were different tabs at the top of the page for games, purchases, prize redemptions, daily bonuses, and more. So, I was always just a few taps away from finding exactly what I needed.
Plus, the loading times were relatively fast, ensuring minimal waiting between games and transactions. Overall, my experience was smooth and enjoyable. Despite the absence of a dedicated mobile app, I'd still give Scrooge Casino a 4/5 rating for the mobile user experience that it offers!

Scrooge currently offers over 200 casino-style games from Relax Gaming, Slotmill, BGaming, and several other leading providers. These titles feature high-quality graphics and immersive sound effects that make you feel as if you're right in the heart of a Las Vegas casino!
Now, let's explore some of the different categories of games that you can expect to find:
Like most social casinos and sweepstakes casinos, Scrooge puts a heavy emphasis on slot games. From classic three-reel slots to modern video slots with intricate themes and bonus features, there's a wide variety to choose from.
So, whether you're a fan of traditional fruit machines or prefer more adventurous themes like ancient mythology or outer space adventures, you'll have no problem finding a slot that suits your preferences!
In case you're not sure where to start, here are a few of my personal favorites:
In addition to slots, there are nearly half a dozen different table games offered at Scrooge Casino. Blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and Texas Hold'em Poker are all available, and these timeless classics offer the perfect blend of strategy, skill, and luck.
Plus, you'll find a handful of video poker variants like Bonus Poker and Aces & Eights, adding an extra layer of excitement to your gaming session.
So, whether you're strategizing your way to victory in blackjack, testing your luck on the roulette wheel, or aiming for winning hands in video poker, Scrooge offers a solid selection of table games and video poker options to keep you entertained for hours!
The only downside is that no live dealer games are available at this time.
Lastly, Scrooge gives you access to over a dozen arcade-style fish games like KA Fish Hunter, Golden Dragon, Hungry Shark, and Monster Island.
These games add a unique and exciting dimension to the gaming experience, as players immerse themselves in captivating underwater worlds while aiming for big wins.
And the fish games at Scrooge Casino blend elements of skill and chance, offering fast-paced action and vibrant graphics that are sure to keep players hooked!
Before you sign up and start playing at an online casino, it's always a good idea to first consider the following three factors: safety, security, and fairness. These aspects are crucial to ensure a positive and trustworthy gaming experience.
Fortunately, Scrooge Casino excels in all three areas, earning a perfect 5/5 rating from me and my team. Allow us to explain why by answering some of the most important questions on the topic:
Yes. Scrooge is a legitimate social casino with sweepstakes elements. The platform operates legally in nearly all U.S. states, and it gives players a chance to win real cash prizes through sweepstakes-style promotions.
Furthermore, Scrooge Casino ensures transparency and fairness in its games through regular audits and compliance with strict gaming regulations. Its legitimacy is bolstered by its partnerships with reputable payment processors and game developers.
Additionally, the site prioritizes responsible gaming practices, providing resources and tools for players to manage their gameplay responsibly. Overall, Scrooge Casino stands as a legitimate and entertaining option for those seeking a social casino experience with the possibility of winning real prizes.
Scrooge Casino is owned and operated by Scrooge LLC, a limited liability company that is incorporated in Indiana, located at 805 S Black St. Alexandria, Indiana 46001, and subject to U.S. law.
Very little information is known about the company besides the fact that they are also responsible for creating the ScroogeCoin cryptocurrency (i.e., a rewards coin that was named after the iconic Disney character Scrooge McDuck).
Scrooge Casino is currently legal in 40 of the 50 U.S. states. The only exceptions are...
In addition, the sweepstakes gaming site is available in 12 of the 13 Canadian provinces and territories (all but Quebec).
When it comes to customer service and support, Scrooge has you covered with a handful of quick and easy ways to get in contact with their team! These include...
For this review, I reached out to Scrooge Casino customer service using the "Live Chat" option. And I'm happy to report that they responded in under 10 minutes. The support agent was very friendly and answered all questions to my satisfaction.
My only complaint would be the lack of a comprehensive FAQ page. These are typically offered by social casinos and sweepstakes casinos, and they provide answers to common questions about promotions, purchases, prize redemptions, and other important topics.
Now that you've learned all about Scrooge Casino, are you wondering how it stacks up against the competition? Well, let's take a closer look!
First up is McLuck, which is one of the fastest-growing sweepstakes casinos in the United States today. Although Scrooge has plenty to offer, McLuck Casino has an advantage in several important categories.
For example, unlike Scrooge, McLuck offers live casino games. These live dealer games provide a more immersive and interactive gaming experience, which can be a major draw for players seeking the thrill of a real casino from the comfort of their own homes.
In addition, McLuck offers a mobile app for both iOS and Android devices. This makes it easier to enjoy all your favorite games while at home or on the go!
Another popular option is Pulsz Casino, which was first launched in 2020 by Yellow Social Interactive Limited. Scrooge has the upper hand when it comes to table games and video poker options, but Pulsz takes the lead in most other areas.
For starters, Pulsz has a much larger selection of online slot games. This gives you more variety and options to choose from, catering to different preferences and tastes. Additionally, Pulsz offers a more streamlined and user-friendly interface, making navigation and gameplay smoother and more enjoyable.
Last but not least, High 5 Casino is one of the biggest and most reliable social casinos in all of North America. With all due respect to Scrooge Casino, High 5 is simply better in almost every single way.
High 5 Casino has over five times as many games as Scrooge. So, users have tons of options to explore and enjoy. From classic slots to innovative new releases, the app offers something for everyone, ensuring that players never run out of exciting games to try.
You're also sure to like that High 5 is one of the best in the business when it comes to rewarding everyday players. From daily login bonuses and social media giveaways to VIP benefits and special discounts on Gold Coin offers, there's always something extra to look forward to at High 5 Casino.
And there you go! That's everything you need to know about Scrooge Casino and what it has to offer!
The sweepstakes gaming site provides an impressive selection of casino-style games, including but not limited to slots, progressive jackpots, table games, video poker, keno, and fish shooting games!
You're also sure to be impressed with their above-average customer service, mobile-friendly website, and generous welcome offer for all new players.
However, Scrooge is not perfect by any means. I was a bit disappointed with the lack of a dedicated mobile app, the 10,000 Sweeps Token minimum redemption requirement, and no live dealer games being offered.
