Polymarket traders are pricing Manchester United as favorites, but not by enough to suggest a straightforward road win.
At the time of writing, Polymarket gives Manchester United roughly a 46% chance of winning in regulation, compared with around 28–29% for Everton and 27% for the draw.
That pricing tells us two things. First, United are clearly the stronger side in the market. Second, traders are still assigning more than half of the total probability to outcomes where Manchester United do not win.
The sportsbook market tells a similar story. DraftKings' +120 moneyline implies a 45.5% win probability, while FanDuel's +115 implies 46.5%.
Rather than simply following the Polymarket favorite and backing United to win, the more interesting angle may be to isolate the part of their performance the market appears most confident in: their attack.
That 46% price is broadly consistent with the major U.S. sportsbooks. DraftKings' +120 price carries a raw implied probability of 45.5%, while FanDuel's +115 implies 46.5%.
The interesting part is that neither market is especially confident in United winning the match.
That matters for our pick. Rather than laying a short price on Manchester United simply to win, there may be more value in targeting their attacking output against an Everton defense whose early results have been better than its underlying numbers.
United are favored, but the market is cautious
Polymarket prices Manchester United at roughly 46% to win. That makes them the clear favorite, but still leaves a majority of the probability on Everton or the draw.
The goals market is more encouraging
Polymarket also prices Over 2.5 total goals at around 57%, suggesting traders expect the match to produce chances even if United are not overwhelmingly likely to win.

At -110, United need to score twice more than 52.4% of the time to break even. Polymarket traders are pricing the same outcome at roughly 53%, showing close agreement between the two markets.
Everton have conceded only once through their opening two Premier League games, but the underlying numbers are less convincing. Crystal Palace and Bournemouth combined for approximately 4.2 xG against them.
Manchester United, meanwhile, have created approximately 6.85 xG through two matches, including 5.02 xG in their five-goal performance against Ipswich.
That helps explain the split in the prediction market. Polymarket traders are only giving United around a 46% chance of winning, but they are pricing Over 2.5 goals above 50%.
For us, that makes the team total the more attractive angle. We do not need Manchester United to control the match or keep a clean sheet. We only need their attacking output to translate into at least two goals.
