The New York Islanders conclude a season‑long seven‑game road swing with a Wednesday night game against the Seattle Kraken at Climate Pledge Arena. The Kraken are struggling mightily of late and will try to end their four-game losing streak with a win at home against a road-weary Islanders team. Before the puck drops in this matchup in the Pacific Northwest, keep reading to get my Islanders vs Kraken prediction on the ice.
Pick: | Kraken ML ATS PRO |
Confidence: | 3/5 |
The Islanders (27‑17‑5) have been playing solid hockey on the road, posting a 13‑9‑3 mark away from home and entering the final game of their current Western swing with a 4‑2‑1 record. Their most recent win came in a tight 4‑3 decision over the Vancouver Canucks, where Anthony Duclair scored twice and Ilya Sorokin stopped 29 shots. The Seattle Kraken (21‑18‑9) have lost four consecutive games, allowing a combined 12 goals in their last two outings and slipping just outside the Wild Card picture in the Pacific Division. Seattle's offense has been present at times, but defensive lapses have hindered them of late.
Ilya Sorokin has been a stabilizing force for the Islanders after returning from injury earlier in January, continuing his impressive form with a solid save percentage and posting franchise record shutouts earlier this season. The Kraken’s Philipp Grubauer has had an up‑and‑down season with a respectable GAA and save percentage but has been tested frequently amid Seattle’s defensive struggles. Goalie play may be a deciding factor in a tight contest, and New York’s more reliable in that department right now.
Anthony Duclair has surged offensively of late, scoring seven goals in his last seven games, adding a big boost to New York’s attack alongside established contributors like Mathew Barzal and Bo Horvat. On the Kraken side, Jordan Eberle leads Seattle in goals and points, while Matty Beniers has been a consistent producer. Eeli Tolvanen has caught fire recently with a multi‑game point streak as well.
Score Projection: Islanders 2 – Kraken 3 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Islanders 44%, Kraken 56% ATS PRO
This matchup should be a close contest between two teams striving to solidify playoff positioning in their respective conferences. The Kraken have been struggling of late, but I'm going to take them to win this matchup on the moneyline at home against an Islanders team that could let down at the end of a long road trip.
