The New England Patriots (3-2) will visit the New Orleans Saints (1-4) at Caesars Superdome on Sunday. The Patriots are favored by three points after pulling off one of the upsets of the young season in their last game. They will look to deny the Saints a second straight win at home. Drake Maye has shown poise and accuracy, leading the Patriots' offense efficiently. He has seven touchdown passes to two interceptions and will try to build on what he built with Diggs in Buffalo in their last game. New Orleans' Spencer Rattler has had an up-and-down start to his NFL career. He has six touchdown passes and just one pick this season, but needs to be more explosive down the field for the Saints' offense to improve.
I don't think that there is a good case for betting on the Patriots to cover the spread this week. The Patriots shocked the Bills in their last game, which will make them a popular bet against a struggling Saints squad. But I want no part of backing New England in their second straight road game after an emotional win in a rivalry game. I'll take the points with the Saints at home here, while acknowledging it could age like a glass of milk left out in the sun.
