Derrick White Prop Bet Projections, Odds & Stats – Jun 12, 2024
Updated October 28, 2026
Updated October 28, 2026
Derrick White and the Boston Celtics visit the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, for Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
Boston leads the series 2-0, and White has played an important role in the Celtics' postseason run. His three-point shooting, consistent minutes, and defensive contributions make him an interesting player to evaluate in the prop betting markets.
Two of the main Derrick White player props for Game 3 are Over/Under 2.5 made three-pointers and Over/Under 15.5 points.
Our projections put White at 2.9 made threes and 15.1 points. Here's how those numbers compare with the available betting lines and the trends influencing each market.
Player prop | Betting line | Over odds | Under odds | Projection |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Made three-pointers | 2.5 | -182 | +145 | 2.9 |
Points | 15.5 | -108 | -112 | 15.1 |
The three-point projection sits 0.4 above the betting line, while the points projection is 0.4 below.
That creates two different betting considerations. White's recent three-point production supports the Over, but his points projection is slightly below the market's expectation.
The odds also matter. Over 2.5 threes is priced at -182, making it a relatively expensive selection despite the favorable projection.

Made 3-Point Shots Prop Odds
ATS.io projection: 2.9 made three-pointers
White has been one of Boston's most reliable outside shooters during the playoffs.
His recent production has exceeded his season average, and the matchup against Dallas provides another opportunity to attempt a high number of threes.
However, Boston's slower pace and the Mavericks' defensive approach could limit the number of possessions available.
1. Strong recent three-point production
White has averaged 3.4 made three-pointers over his previous 15 games.
That's 0.6 more than his season-long average of 2.8.
The improvement suggests that his recent shooting volume and efficiency have been stronger than his overall numbers indicate.
2. Consistent playing time
White has averaged 33.1 minutes per game this season, placing him in the 89th percentile among NBA players.
His regular role in Boston's rotation provides plenty of opportunities to attempt outside shots.
With the Celtics competing in the NBA Finals, White is also likely to remain heavily involved in the offense.
3. Favorable matchup against Dallas
Opposing starting shooting guards have averaged 2.8 made three-pointers per game when facing Dallas on the Mavericks' home court.
That ranks as the third-highest mark in the NBA this season.
White's role as a perimeter shooter gives him an opportunity to take advantage of that matchup.
4. Boston's offensive rebounding
The Celtics have averaged 11.1 offensive rebounds per road game over their previous 20 contests, ranking eighth in the league during that stretch.
Offensive rebounds create additional possessions and second-chance scoring opportunities.
Those extra opportunities can lead to more three-point attempts, particularly for perimeter players such as White.
1. Increased foul trouble
White has averaged 3.2 personal fouls over his previous five games.
That's 1.1 more than his season average.
Early foul trouble could reduce his minutes and limit his opportunities to attempt three-pointers.
2. Boston's slow road pace
The Celtics have played at the slowest pace in the NBA over their previous 20 road games.
A slower game typically produces fewer possessions and fewer opportunities for individual players to accumulate statistics.
3. Dallas also plays slowly
The Mavericks have ranked fourth-slowest in pace over their previous 20 games.
Facing another slow-paced team could further reduce Boston's possessions.
That matters for a prop requiring at least three made three-pointers.
4. Road-game considerations
White is playing away from Boston.
Road games can introduce additional challenges for shooters, particularly in a high-pressure playoff environment.
His recent production remains encouraging, but the venue is another factor worth considering.
Points Prop Odds
ATS.io projection: 15.1 points
White's points prop is more evenly priced than his three-point market.
His shooting ability gives him a realistic chance of exceeding 15.5 points, but the expected pace and Dallas' defensive tendencies present some concerns.
The projection sits just below the line, suggesting a closely balanced market.
1. Improved three-point production
White has averaged 3.4 made threes over his previous 15 games.
That represents a significant contribution to his scoring.
If he continues shooting at that rate, three-point baskets alone could account for more than 10 points.
2. Consistent minutes
White's 33.1 minutes per game place him among the NBA's more heavily used players.
His playing time provides a stable foundation for his scoring opportunities.
3. Favorable perimeter matchup
Starting shooting guards have averaged 2.8 made three-pointers per game against Dallas at home.
White could benefit from the Mavericks' defensive attention on Boston's leading scorers.
4. Second-chance opportunities
Boston's offensive rebounding provides additional scoring chances.
White can benefit when missed shots are recovered and the ball is moved back to the perimeter.
5. Strong free-throw shooting
White has converted 90.2% of his free throws on the road this season.
That ranks in the 91st percentile among NBA players.
His accuracy gives him another way to add points if he gets opportunities at the line.
1. Recent personal fouls
White has averaged 3.2 fouls per game over his previous five contests.
Foul trouble could affect his playing time and scoring opportunities.
2. Boston's slow pace
The Celtics have played at the league's slowest road pace over their previous 20 games.
Fewer possessions can limit individual scoring totals.
3. Dallas' deliberate tempo
The Mavericks have played at the fourth-slowest pace over their previous 20 games.
The matchup between two slow-paced teams could result in fewer offensive opportunities than White typically receives.
4. Limited free-throw opportunities for Boston
The Celtics have averaged 18.3 free-throw attempts per road game over their previous 25 contests.
That ranks third-lowest in the NBA.
White may need to rely heavily on field goals to reach 16 points.
5. Dallas limits free throws for shooting guards
Opposing starting shooting guards have attempted just 1.8 free throws per game against Dallas over its previous 10 contests.
That ranks sixth-lowest in the league.
White's excellent free-throw percentage is less valuable if he rarely reaches the line.

<title size="2xl" color="default" tabularNums>15.1 points</title>
</box>
The projection is slightly below the 15.5-point line.
White's outside shooting provides a path to the Over, but Boston's expected pace and Dallas' ability to limit free-throw opportunities support the Under.
→ Our Take: Under 15.5 points has a small statistical advantage based on the 15.1 projection. The difference is narrow, so shooting efficiency and playing time could easily determine the result.
White is an important part of Boston's starting lineup.
He provides reliable perimeter shooting, ball movement, and strong defensive play alongside Jrue Holiday.
With Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown attracting considerable defensive attention, White often receives opportunities to shoot from beyond the arc.
That makes his three-point prop particularly relevant.
However, his scoring output can vary depending on how Boston distributes its offensive opportunities.
If Tatum and Brown dominate the scoring, White may contribute through defense, assists, and spacing without producing a particularly high points total.
His three-point and points props are therefore closely related, but they do not necessarily produce the same betting result.
White can exceed his three-point line without scoring 16 points if he receives limited opportunities inside the arc or at the free-throw line.
Boston defeated Dallas 106-99 on June 12, 2024, taking a 3-0 lead in the NBA Finals.
White finished with 16 points and four made three-pointers, clearing both published prop lines.

The three-point projection correctly identified the side of the line that won.
The points projection was slightly below the line, but White finished with 16 points, one point above the threshold needed for the Over.
Playing time was a major factor.
White logged 41 minutes and 36 seconds, considerably more than his regular-season average of 33.1.
That gave him additional opportunities to shoot.
His nine three-point attempts also proved important.
White converted four, enough to clear the 2.5 line comfortably.
His points total was closer.
He scored 12 points from three-pointers and added four at the free-throw line, finishing with exactly 16.
The four successful free throws made the difference between winning and losing the points Over.
Boston won 106-99 in Dallas.
Tatum led the Celtics with 31 points, while Brown added 30.
