Key Storylines
- The Suns are shorthanded. Devin Booker (groin) is out, Jalen Green (hamstring) is sidelined, and Isaiah Livers is listed as out (hip). Without Booker and Green, Phoenix’s firepower and offensive cohesion take a major hit. Dillon Brooks is also questionable going into this game.
- The Timberwolves are healthy and hot. Minnesota enters with no injuries listed and has won its last five contests. Their offense is operating at a high level at home and their confidence is high with Anthony Edwards leading the team at 28.1 points per game.
- Both teams score at an impressive clip. Minnesota averages 120.3 points per game this season, while Phoenix scores 116.2 points per game. Meanwhile, both defenses have allowed over 113 points per contest. The total for this contest is set at 223.5, which is an attainable number even with the Suns missing so many of their key players on the offensive end of the floor.
- For Phoenix, key players like Dillon Brooks, Collin Gillespie, and Mark Williams will carry the load. But without their top scorers, they may struggle to keep pace with Minnesota’s balanced attack. The Suns have struggled to gain any traction on the road this season, going 5-6 away from home thus far. That could also make it tough for them to keep up with the Wolves.
Head-to-Head & Betting Trends
- These teams met earlier this season, and the Suns earned a 114-113 victory in Phoenix. In that game, Brooks led Phoenix, while Anthony Edwards exploded for 41 points for Minnesota.
- Minnesota is 8-15 against the spread so far this season.
- Phoenix is 15-8 against the spread going into Monday night's game.
- The Suns have gone 11-12 in the over/under market heading into this contest.
- The Wolves are 12-11 on totals this year, slightly favoring the over.

Final Thoughts
Given the personnel imbalance, Minnesota’s home-court advantage, and Phoenix’s recent injuries, the Timberwolves look well-positioned to claim a comfortable win and cover the 9.5-point spread. The offensive firepower of Minnesota combined with Phoenix’s reduced scoring capacity make a Timberwolves victory the smart bet tonight. I'll lay the points with Anthony Edwards and company here.
