The Phoenix Suns travel to South Florida on Tuesday night to take on the Miami Heat in an NBA contest with major implications for both squads. Phoenix enters this game riding a three-game winning streak and has moved into the top six in the Western Conference standings. Miami is coming off a tough three-game losing streak and will try to move closer to the top six in the East. Before tip-off from Miami, you can keep reading to get my Suns vs Heat prediction for this contest.
Pick: | Heat -1.5 ATS PRO |
Confidence: | 4/5 |
Phoenix has ascended into solid form recently, posting a 9-2 record since late December and knocking off teams by comfortable margins, including a 112-93 win over the Washington Wizards on Sunday. Royce O’Neale led the way with 19 points and five triples in that contest. Devin Booker continues to set the offensive tone, averaging over 25 points per game this season and also leading the Suns in assists. Dillon Brooks has been a consistent scorer with more than 21 points per outing, while providing his signature grit and toughness. However, the Suns are dealing with absences, as Jalen Green remains sidelined with a hamstring issue and Jamaree Bouyea is out with a concussion.
Miami enters this contest struggling to maintain momentum, dropping its last three contests on the road, all of which have come by double-digits. The Heat’s home record remains respectable at 13-6, and they boast one of the better scoring averages in the Eastern Conference. Norman Powell is the team’s leading scorer at nearly 24 points per game. He missed their most recent loss due to back soreness and is listed as questionable here. All-Star caliber scorer Tyler Herro is healthy and averaging close to 22 points, while Bam Adebayo provides Miami's interior presence in both scoring and rebounding. Center Kel’el Ware has been a factor on the boards and in rim protection, and he will be a key figure in dealing with Phoenix's Mark Williams.
Score Projection: Phoenix Suns 112 – Miami Heat 117 ATS PRO
Win Probability: PHX 42%, MIA 58% ATS PRO
I am going with the Miami Heat to win and cover the spread on their home floor against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night. The Heat have struggled of late, but they are a good team on their home floor and should bounce back from their recent losing streak in this spot. Expect the Heat to get the job done at the expense of a Suns team that has looked good lately but isn't all that good on the road this year.
