The New York Knicks head west on Sunday afternoon for a high-profile interconference meeting with the Los Angeles Lakers at Crypto.com Arena. Both clubs enter this contest in strong form and firmly in the playoff picture, making it one of the most intriguing games on the NBA schedule. New York has been one of the Eastern Conference’s most consistent teams, while Los Angeles continues to lean on elite scoring talent and a dynamic offense led by superstar guard Luka Doncic. Who will win this contest? I try to answer that question below with my Knicks vs Lakers prediction.
Pick: Lakers +3.5
Confidence: 3 out of 5
The Knicks come into this matchup playing excellent basketball, winning 8 of their last 10 games and strengthening their hold on one of the top seeds in the Eastern Conference. Their recent road victory in Denver showcased how explosive this team can be offensively when its ball movement and outside shooting are clicking.
Los Angeles continues to ride the scoring brilliance of Luka Doncic. The superstar guard erupted for 44 points against Indiana in the Lakers’ most recent game, marking his 10th 40-point performance of the season. With LeBron James also expected to be available, the Lakers possess the offensive firepower to compete with any opponent.
This contest also presents an interesting stylistic contrast. New York thrives through rebounding and defensive discipline, while the Lakers rely heavily on elite shot creation and efficient scoring. The team that controls the tempo and limits turnovers should gain the edge.

|---|---|---|
Points per game | 117.2 | 116.0 |
Points allowed per game | 110.6 | 115.3 |

Score Projection: New York Knicks 119 – Los Angeles Lakers 118
Win Probability: New York Knicks 58%, Los Angeles Lakers 42%
This contest brings together two playoff-caliber teams loaded with offensive talent. Los Angeles will rely heavily on Luka Doncic’s scoring ability and the leadership of LeBron James to keep the game close. However, New York enters with stronger defensive numbers, a rebounding edge, and one of the most efficient offensive groups in the league. I expect the Lakers to cover the spread as an underdog here, but for the Knicks to ultimately win this game on the road.
