The Los Angeles Clippers travel to face the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday night in a game that is lopsided on paper. The Thunder have been one of the best teams in basketball this season, while the Clippers have struggled mightily due to injuries and inconsistent play. Here, I take a closer look at this Western Conference contest and my Clippers vs Thunder prediction is below.

The Thunder have been dominant this season, entering this game with a record of 24-2, leading the league with elite offensive and defensive metrics. Oklahoma City has taken full advantage of playing on its home court and the Clippers’ injury issues. Los Angeles has struggled to find consistency, holding a 6-20 record through 26 games and dropping multiple games in a row recently.
Injuries have sapped the Clippers of key rotation pieces, with Bradley Beal out for the season, James Harden and Derrick Jones Jr. sidelined, and Nicolas Batum listed as day-to-day. Oklahoma City’s injury report includes several players out, but none of the absences have significantly dented their performance this season. With MVP-caliber guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander leading the lineup and strong support from Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren, the Thunder continue to roll through opponents.
Of course, OKC is coming off a loss in the NBA Cup semifinals in their last game. They were beaten by the San Antonio Spurs in Las Vegas, struggling to slow down the three-point shooting of the Spurs in that matchup. OKC will be out to avenge that performance in this game, as they aim to get back on track.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Cason Wallace | Over 2.5 rebounds |
Ivica Zubac | Over 13.5 points |
Score Projection: LA Clippers 102 – Oklahoma City Thunder 128
Win Probability: Clippers 5%, Thunder 95%
Given the information available to me, the Thunder appear poised to not just win but to cover the spread convincingly. Oklahoma City’s balance of elite offense, staunch defense, and a healthier rotation gives them every advantage against a Clippers squad dealing with significant absences and a poor run of form. Expect the Thunder to control the game, force turnovers, and convert with efficiency on both ends as they should cover the number at home.
