Key Storylines

They were led by Bub Carrington, Jaden Hardy, Anthony Gill, and Kadary Richmond with 13 points each. Washington capitalized on 23 Pacers turnovers to secure the victory.
- The Pacers are in a dance with the Wizards for the bottom of the East, and the outcome on Thursday leaves them a game behind Washington in the standings.
- Both teams are dealing with considerable injury absences, particularly Washington, with Trae Young still awaiting his debut and Indiana missing key contributors like Pascal Siakam and Tyrese Haliburton.
Key Players
Washington Wizards
- Bub Carrington – Came up big in Thursday's game with 13 points. With Trae Young still away from action, Carrington’s ability to handle scoring duties is crucial to Washington’s floor spacing and offensive balance.
- Jaden Hardy – Also scored 13 off the bench in the recent clash with Indiana and provides the secondary scoring that can keep the Wizards competitive, especially if he maintains efficiency behind the arc.
- Kadary Richmond – Another 13-point contributor on Thursday, Richmond offers scoring versatility and helps fill the gap left by starters currently sidelined, making him a key factor in Washington’s offensive rotations.
Indiana Pacers
- Jarace Walker – Led the Pacers in the previous game with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and seven assists, showing his all-around impact. Walker’s presence on both ends makes him a central piece of Indiana’s game plan with Siakam out.
- Andrew Nembhard – A primary facilitator and secondary scorer, Nembhard’s ability to distribute and score is especially important with Indiana’s top playmakers curbed by injuries. His performance will likely be a deciding factor in clutch moments.
- Taelon Peter – A career-high 16 points in the last outing highlight his potential as a spark off the bench. If he continues to provide energy and scoring, Indiana’s depth may outplay Washington’s.

Final Thoughts
The Wizards won the first game between these teams in this back-to-back set. But the Pacers have been a better team overall over the last month or so and they should be able to get the job done in this battle of teams that appear to be tanking over the final 30 games of the year, even if the absence of Siakam is a significant one.
