Ferrari enters the 2026 season with a highly experienced driver lineup. Charles Leclerc remains one of the fastest qualifiers on the grid, while Lewis Hamilton brings championship experience and race management expertise.
Ferrari’s recent designs have emphasized strong straight line speed combined with stable aerodynamic performance. The team often produces cars capable of exceptional qualifying pace.
Engine development has historically been a major strength for Ferrari, with the power unit frequently delivering strong acceleration on circuits with long straights.
Charles Leclerc is known for exceptional qualifying speed and precision under pressure. His aggressive but controlled driving style allows him to extract maximum performance during single lap runs.
Lewis Hamilton brings unmatched experience and race intelligence. His tire management and strategic awareness often allow him to gain positions over long race distances.
Ferrari look competitive in 2026. The team looked to have built a solid contender in pre-season testing, and a strong performance in Australia in the season opening Grand Prix confirmed this. Ferrari have mastered the start procedure for this season, as shown by both Hamilton and Leclerc shooting out of the blocks in Melbourne to gain multiple places from the start. The combination of engineering resources and driver experience gives Ferrari the tools to compete for race wins if development progresses smoothly.
Ferrari drivers often perform well in qualifying markets due to the car’s strong single lap pace. At power circuits, Ferrari frequently becomes a contender for podium positions and race victories. At least at the start of the season, should Leclerc or Hamilton get it right in qualifying they should be a strong bet for Leader after Lap 1 markets, especially on circuits with few overtaking opportunities.
