Sharks vs Sabres Prediction. The Buffalo Sabres continue their push toward the postseason thanks to a fast, skilled offense led by Tage Thompson and Rasmus Dahlin, both of whom have been driving the club’s offensive output all season. Meanwhile, the San Jose Sharks remain one of the league’s youngest teams, leaning heavily on rookie sensation Macklin Celebrini and veteran forward Alexander Wennberg to generate offense during their rebuild. Buffalo’s speed advantage and strong home form could pose a serious challenge for San Jose, especially in a matchup where the Sabres' power play has been trending upward. Pick: Buffalo Sabres Moneyline (-150) ATS PRO
Confidence: ★★★★☆
Buffalo enters this matchup with one of the most dynamic forward groups in the Eastern Conference. Tage Thompson’s ability to score from distance combined with Dahlin’s puck-moving ability from the blue line makes the Sabres particularly dangerous on the power play.
The Sharks remain competitive thanks to the emergence of Macklin Celebrini, who has quickly become the centerpiece of San Jose’s offense. However, the team still struggles defensively, ranking near the bottom of the league in goals allowed.
If Buffalo controls possession early and forces San Jose’s young defensive corps into mistakes, the Sabres should be able to dictate the pace of this game.
Macklin Celebrini has been one of the most exciting rookies in the NHL, consistently producing points while logging major minutes for the Sharks.
With several players in Sabres being capable of scoring, Buffalo can roll multiple lines that create sustained pressure.
Score Projection: Buffalo 4 – San Jose 2 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Buffalo 63.1%, San Jose 36.9% ATS PRO
Buffalo’s offensive depth and power-play efficiency give them a clear edge over a rebuilding Sharks roster. Unless San Jose’s young core steals the game early, the Sabres should control play at home. Buffalo being the hottest team in the NHL right now, meanwhile Sharks recent form is shaky, this should be a win for the home team.
