The NC State Wolfpack travel to Littlejohn Coliseum in South Carolina on Tuesday to take on the Clemson Tigers in a significant Atlantic Coast Conference basketball game. Clemson is unbeaten in conference play, bringing a nine‑game winning streak into this evening’s game after a strong 69‑59 win over Miami. NC State arrives off a tough home loss to Georgia Tech, leaving questions about consistency on both ends of the floor. Here, I break down this contest in the ACC and give you my NC State vs Clemson prediction on the court.
Pick: | Clemson -3.5 ATS PRO |
Confidence: | 3/5 |
Clemson has established itself as one of the ACC’s top teams this season, sporting a 16‑3 overall record and a perfect 6‑0 in conference action. The Tigers have combined a stout defense with efficient offense, holding opponents under 60 points in two straight outings while consistently limiting high‑powered ACC offenses. Clemson’s nine‑game winning streak reflects a growing confidence and cohesion, especially at home, where they continue to build a strong record and point differential.
NC State enters this contest at 12‑6 overall and 3‑2 in ACC play. The Wolfpack offense rates among the conference’s most productive, averaging 85.8 points per game and ranking high nationally for scoring output. However, recent inconsistencies have been evident, particularly in defensive execution and closing out tight situations. A surprising loss at home to Georgia Tech raised questions about their ability to maintain an offensive flow against physical defenses. Still, NC State’s high assist‑to‑turnover ratio indicates the type of ball movement that could help in a hostile road environment.
Score Projection: NC State 71 – Clemson 77 ATS PRO
Win Probability: NC State 32%, Clemson 68% ATS PRO
I'm going to lay the points with Clemson in this ACC matchup against NC State. Clemson has been operating at a high level on both ends of the floor lately and I expect that trend to continue here against a Wolfpack team that has looked good against the lower-tier teams in the ACC, but has struggled against quality competition. Expect the Tigers to perform well here and to stay perfect in conference competition this season.
