The Patriot League gets an intriguing matchup Monday evening when the Colgate Raiders (16-11, 10-4 Patriot League) make the short road trip to face the Boston University Terriers (12-15, 7-7 Patriot League). Both teams are fighting to secure a better seed as the regular season enters its final stretch. Colgate enters as a small favorite but Boston University has momentum from a four-game home win streak. With offensive firepower on both sides, this game has the feel of a tight battle that could come down to a late shot or key defensive stop. Here, I break down this contest and make my Colgate vs Boston University prediction.
Pick: Colgate Raiders -1.5 ATS PRO
Confidence: ★★★★☆
Boston University Terriers
Colgate Raiders
Colgate | Boston University | |
|---|---|---|
Points Per Game | 76.5 | 76.3 |
Points Allowed Per Game | 73.0 | 75.5 |
Team Field Goal % | 48.5% | 48.8% |
Team Free Throw % | 72.8% | 71.9% |
Rebounds Per Game | 34.2 | 32.8 |
Assists Per Game | 14.5 | 14.8 |
Statistically, these teams are very similar in offensive production, with nearly identical points per game and field goal percentages. Colgate holds a slight advantage defensively, allowing fewer points per contest and rebounding better overall. Boston University’s three-point shooting prowess can move this game in their direction, but the stats say we're in for a close one here.
The Raiders and Terriers played a memorable overtime affair in their first matchup this season, with Colgate grabbing a one-point win. Historically, their recent matchup history favors Colgate in the last decade, although BU’s win last year in double overtime shows the series can be competitive. This season, Colgate is 11-14 against the spread, while BU is 13-12 against the spread.
Score Projection: Colgate 77 – Boston University 74 ATS PRO
Win Probability: Colgate 58%, Boston University 42% ATS PRO
This Patriot League clash promises intensity from both sides. Colgate’s overall defensive efficiency and deeper rotation should give them the edge in a close contest, while BU’s three-point shooting can keep things tight until the final minutes. Expect a competitive game, but I'll go with Colgate to cover the spread and secure the road victory.
