The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will play the Toronto Argonauts in their final regular-season road game of the year on Saturday. Hamilton is 9–6 and has already clinched a playoff spot at the top of the East Division. The Argos are 5–10 and are fighting for playoff positioning late in the season. Here, I break down this East Division matchup and give you my Tiger-Cats vs Argonauts prediction for Saturday's game.
Odds | Hamilton | Toronto |
|---|---|---|
Spread | –1.5 | +1.5 |
Moneyline | –125 | +105 |
Total | 57.5 | |
Hamilton’s offense is led by Bo Levi Mitchell. He enters this game as the CFL leader in passing yards with 4,406 yards and touchdown passes with 28. In the blowout Week 17 loss, Mitchell managed only 212 yards and no touchdowns. He will try to avoid a second poor start in a row in this matchup.
Toronto's Nick Arbuckle has returned from a calf injury but was pressured heavily in the team's Week 17 loss to the BC Lions. He went 28-of-38 for 281 yards, one touchdown, and one interception against the Lions. Arbuckle ranks second behind Mitchell in the CFL passing yardage charts and he will try to surpass BLM with a big game here.
Score Projection: Hamilton 28 – Toronto 24
Win Probability: Hamilton 58%, Toronto 42%
These teams will both look to air it out offensively like they have for most of the season. Both Arbuckle and Mitchell will lead their offenses in what should be an entertaining and high-scoring game. But in the end, I think that Hamilton is more well-rounded and should be able to come away with a win on the road to get to the 10-win mark for the year.
