Welcome to ATS.io’s official guide to Florida online casinos. The Sunshine State hasn’t legalized real-money online gambling on slots and table games just yet. But there’s still a great way for you to get in on the action right now (spoiler: it’s sweepstakes casinos).
In this guide, we’ll introduce you to the best FL casino sites available today and break down other ways you can gamble online here without breaking any rules. Let’s go ahead and get started.
Our Top Recommended Florida Online Casinos
Are Online Casinos Legal in Florida?
Well, let’s get the obvious question out of the way first: Are online casinos actually legal in Florida?
Right now, they’re not. The state hasn’t approved online gambling for any of the usual casino games: slots, blackjack, roulette, poker, you name it.
Florida also doesn’t hand out licenses or oversee any online casino operators. That’s why you won’t see big national brands like DraftKings Casino, FanDuel Casino, or BetMGM Casino available to players here.
Even the Seminole Tribe’s Hard Rock Bet app, which is currently legal for online sports betting in Florida, can’t offer real-money casino games in the state… at least not yet.
Latest Legalization Efforts & Florida Online Casino Bills
That might change soon, though. A 2025 report from Eilers & Krejcik Gaming (EKG) predicted that Florida could be next in line to legalize online casinos — and possibly one of the only U.S. states to do so in the next few years.
If that happens, it would almost certainly come through an amendment to the Seminole Tribe’s compact with the state, allowing Hard Rock Bet to offer online casino games in addition to online sports betting.
There’s already been some movement in that direction, too. During the 2025 legislative session, lawmakers introduced SB 1404 and HB 1467 — two bills designed to keep online gambling under the Seminole Tribe’s control and block unlicensed sites from operating outside the compact.
Neither bill made it out of committee, but it sent a pretty clear signal: if online casinos ever become legal in Florida, they’ll almost certainly run through Hard Rock and the tribal agreement.
Florida Online Sweepstakes Casinos: A Legal Way to Play?
While Florida hasn’t approved real-money online casinos yet, there’s still a way to play legally. They’re called social casinos, or more often these days, sweepstakes casinos.

These sites are allowed in Florida and in most other states because they don’t actually involve gambling. You’re not putting real money on the line. Instead, you use two kinds of virtual currency: Gold Coins to play just for fun, and Sweeps Coins if you want a shot at real cash prizes.
The setup’s pretty simple. One Sweeps Coin equals one dollar, and if you win, the prizes are paid out through a promotional sweepstakes system, not traditional gambling. That’s why they’re legal. They fall under sweepstakes law instead of real-money casino gaming rules.

Which Games Can You Play at Florida’s Best Gambling Sites?
For those unfamiliar with social casinos and sweepstakes casinos, there’s one thing you need to know: Florida’s ones have all the best casino games you would find at a normal online gambling site.
Meaning the digital versions of the same games you can play at Seminole Hard Rock or any of the other land-based casinos in the state.
Here’s a quick rundown of what casino games to expect:

Slots
By far the most popular choice. You’ll find hundreds of online slot games at every sweepstakes online casino in Florida.
From simple 3-reel slots to massive progressive jackpots. Many also have bonus rounds, free spins, and branded games just like you’d find on a real casino floor.

Table Games
If you’re more of a strategy person, you’ll find all the classic casino games here. Blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and more. Most Florida casinos online also let you choose different versions or table limits, so you can play how you like.

Video Poker
If you like online poker but want something a little faster, then video poker is the answer. Games like Jacks or Better or Deuces Wild allow you to test your skills while still being quick and easy.

Live Dealer Games
Some online casinos in Florida now offer live dealer games. Real dealers running the games in real-time. So you can chat, watch the cards being dealt, and have the full experience of a real casino. All from your phone or laptop.

Specialty Games
If you’re in the mood for something different, there are keno, bingo, scratch cards, and even arcade games. These are great when you want something quick and fun in between playing online slots or table games.
Florida Online Casino No Deposit Bonuses
If you’re like me and sign-up bonuses help you decide where to play online casino games, I’ve got some good news. Every Florida social casino and sweepstakes casino gives new players a 100% free, no-deposit bonus when they join.

Do you know why Florida online casinos offer no-deposit bonuses? It’s actually because they have to. These sites operate legally under sweepstakes laws, and for any sweepstakes to be considered legitimate, there has to be a free way to enter or participate.
That’s why no purchase or deposit is ever required. You can play for free using the coins you earn from sign-up bonuses, daily login rewards, or even mail-in entries if you want to go that route.

How to Play Florida Online Casino Games for Real Money
Trying to find out how to play online casino games and win real money in Florida? I’ll show you the way. Below are the simple steps you should take:
Step 1: Pick a Sweepstakes Casino
The first thing you’ll need to do is choose where to play. And as a friendly reminder: real-money online casinos are not legal in the Sunshine State. That means no licensed Florida gambling sites like DraftKings, BetMGM, or Hard Rock.
But no worries. Simply select a social casino or sweepstakes casino that allows players from Florida. Good news: the majority of them do. Chumba. McLuck. Pulsz. Stake.us.
See our list of sweepstakes casinos to find all of our favorites, as well as some of the hottest new options available today.
Step 2: Set Up a New Account
Once you’ve made your decision, visit the website (or download their mobile app, if applicable), and create a new online casino account.
You’ll likely need to just provide an email address, as well as choose a password. If you’re in a hurry, you can even sign up instantly using your Facebook or Google account.
Step 3: Claim Your Welcome Bonus
After that, claim your free coins. As mentioned in the previous section, all Florida sweepstakes sites offer a no-cost sign-up bonus instantly. There’s typically also a 100% (or greater) first-purchase match to take advantage of, if interested.
Step 4: Play All Your Favorite Games
Time to have some fun. Play all your favorite casino games. I’m talking online slots, table games, poker, live dealer games, keno, bingo, scratch cards, and much, much more.
Step 5: Redeem Winnings for Real Cash Prizes
Once you’ve met the minimum Sweeps Coin redemption threshold at your FL online casino (typically somewhere in the 10-100 SC range), you can cash out your winnings. 1.00 SC = $1.00 in prizes, and the money is usually directly deposited into your bank account within a day or so.
Land-Based Florida Casinos
Florida is not yet home to any legal online casinos, but if you want to play in person, there are still many options. The Sunshine State has more than a dozen land-based casinos, including commercial casinos, racinos, and tribal casinos.
Commercial casinos and racinos are regulated by the Florida Gaming Control Commission. Most of the commercial casinos in the state are located in South Florida.
Tribal casinos, on the other hand, are owned and operated by two tribes: the Seminole Tribe of Florida and the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida.

The Seminole tribal casinos offer Class III gaming. This means the casinos have real slot machines, table games, and retail sports betting. Florida’s commercial casinos and racinos only have electronic gaming machines (but they still look and play a lot like traditional slot machines).
Anyway, here’s a full list of every casino you can visit in Florida right now:

Other Legal Ways to Gamble Online in Florida
You can’t legally play real-money slot games or table games online in Florida just yet. But that doesn’t mean you’re totally out of luck. There are still a few legal (and fun) ways to bet and win from your phone. Here’s how it breaks down:
| Florida Online Gambling Options | Is It Allowed? ✅ | Legal Gambling Age 🔞 |
|---|---|---|
| 🎲 Casinos | No | N/A |
| ♠️ Poker | No | N/A |
| 🏀 Sports Betting | Yes | 21+ |
| 🏇 Horse Race Betting | Yes | 18+ |
| 🏈 Daily Fantasy Sports | Yes | 18+ |
| 🎟️ Lottery Games | No | N/A |

Sports Betting
Florida’s path to sports betting started back in 2021, when Governor Ron DeSantis approved a new gaming compact with the Seminole Tribe. That deal gave the tribe full control over sports betting statewide.
If you’re in Florida today, Hard Rock Bet is the only legal sportsbook you can use. It covers everything from football and basketball to soccer, baseball, and plenty more. You can sign up, place bets, and cash out real winnings (all through the app).

Horse Racing
Horse racing has been part of Florida’s gambling industry for decades, and betting on races is still perfectly legal. You can wager online through licensed sites known as ADWs (short for advance-deposit wagering).
A few of the most popular options include TwinSpires, FanDuel Racing, and DK Horse. These platforms let you bet on races happening in Florida and around the country, watch live streams, and track your results in real time.

Daily Fantasy Sports
Daily fantasy sports are kind of in a gray area here. The state hasn’t passed a law that officially legalizes them, but it also hasn’t made them illegal.
Since fantasy contests are considered games of skill rather than pure chance, players in Florida can still enter paid contests on sites like DraftKings, FanDuel, Underdog, and PrizePicks.
That said, the state has pushed back a bit against certain “pick’em” formats because they work a lot like sports betting. So far, though, regular fantasy contests remain active and available.

Lottery Games
The Florida Lottery has been around since the late 1980s, but you can’t buy tickets online yet. Everything still runs the old-fashioned way… you’ll need to visit a licensed retailer in person.
The official Florida Lottery website and mobile app let you check results, see drawings, and claim smaller prizes, but not purchase tickets. Third-party delivery apps like Jackpocket aren’t allowed to operate in Florida either.
Florida Online Gambling Laws Compared to Neighboring States
Wondering how Florida’s online gambling laws compare to those in the states around it? The table below gives you a good idea of where things currently stand and what’s legal (or not) just across state lines.
| State | Online Casinos | Online Poker | Online Sports Betting |
|---|---|---|---|
| Florida | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal | ✅ Legal |
| Alabama | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal |
| Arkansas | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal | ✅ Legal |
| Georgia | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal |
| Kentucky | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal | ✅ Legal |
| Louisiana | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal | ✅ Legal (55 of 64 parishes) |
| Mississippi | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal | ✅ Legal (must be on casino property) |
| North Carolina | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal | ✅ Legal |
| South Carolina | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal |
| Tennessee | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal | ✅ Legal |
| Virginia | ❌ Not legal | ❌ Not legal | ✅ Legal |
| West Virginia | ✅ Legal | ✅ Legal | ✅ Legal |
As you can see, legal online sports betting is pretty common across the Southeast, though a few states are still holding out (I’m looking at you, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina).
The big difference is that most of the other states with legal sports betting (like Louisiana, Tennessee, and North Carolina) have open markets with multiple sportsbook options. Players there can pick between DraftKings, FanDuel, ESPN BET, and several others.
Florida, meanwhile, just has Hard Rock Bet. Because the Seminole Tribe holds exclusive control under the state compact, it’s the only legal option right now.
On the other hand, real-money online casinos and online poker sites are still banned pretty much everywhere in the region. The closest state that has legalized both is West Virginia, and that’s a little ways away.
Unfortunately, that means there’s not much pressure on Florida to make a move on legalizing iGaming (at least not until one of its nearby states takes the lead and shows it can work).
Responsible Gambling in Florida
Gambling is supposed to be entertaining, not something that adds more stress to your life or causes financial difficulties. If you ever feel like you are out of control, there are people and programs in Florida who are ready to help. And it’s all free and confidential.

The Future of Florida Online Gambling Sites: What’s Next?
So, when will Florida actually legalize online casinos? Unfortunately, there’s no clear timeline. You can find the latest news and updates by scrolling up to the “Latest Legalization Efforts & Florida Online Casino Bills” section near the top of the page.
But I will say this: there are definitely a few reasons to be optimistic about things.
- Legalizing iGaming would likely bring a major boost in tax revenue and create new jobs across the state.
- Plus, since online sports betting is already up and running through Hard Rock Bet, expanding into casino games wouldn’t be a huge leap.
That said, there are still some obstacles in the way.
- The legal language from Florida’s 2018 constitutional amendment leaves room for debate — some argue that online casino gambling would require voter approval before moving forward.
- And like with any gambling expansion, concerns about problem gambling remain part of the conversation.
What’s clear is that the Seminole Tribe supports the idea of online casino legalization. Many industry experts believe it’s entirely possible that an amendment to the tribe’s compact with the state could eventually allow real-money online casino games, just as it did for sports betting.
But for now, all we can do is sit and wait.
Who Would Be First to Launch if Florida Legalizes Online Casinos?
Like I’ve mentioned a few times already, Hard Rock would almost certainly be the first to launch if they legalize online casinos in Florida. The platform is owned and operated by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, which currently has full control over the state’s online sports betting industry.
If the state moves forward with iGaming, that same setup would probably carry over. In other words, Hard Rock would likely get a monopoly on the Florida online casino market.
If you want to get a feel for what that might look like, check out our Hard Rock Bet Casino review. The site’s already live in New Jersey and offers a solid selection of online slots, table games, and live dealer games. It’d be a strong option for Florida players if it ever goes live here.

The downside, of course, is that a monopoly means fewer options for players. You wouldn’t see big names like DraftKings Casino, FanDuel Casino, BetMGM, Caesars, or Golden Nugget like you do in open markets such as Michigan, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania.
Still, that could change. When profits are involved, things in the online gambling world rarely stay the same for long.
Florida Online Casino FAQs
No, online gambling is not legal in Florida. You cannot play online casino games or poker for real money. The only type of online gambling permitted in the state is sports betting, and that’s only on the Hard Rock Bet app, which is run by the Seminole Tribe.
Nope, DraftKings Casino isn’t available in Florida. There aren’t any legal Florida online gambling sites offering real-money play at the moment. Until laws change, online sweepstakes casinos are your best option here.
No, offshore casinos aren’t permitted in Florida. Sites like Bovada, Café Casino, Rainbet, BetUS, Ignition Casino, and BetOnline aren’t licensed or regulated in the United States. But most of these online casinos still accept Florida players. They offer real-money online gambling, but there are some risks involved since these sites don’t provide consumer protection or state oversight.
Yes, you do. Gambling winnings are treated just like regular income under federal law. While Florida doesn’t have a state income tax, you’re still required to report and pay federal taxes on any winnings… whether they come from a brick-and-mortar casino, online sportsbook, offshore casino, or any future Florida online gambling sites that may launch down the road.
