Mercedes combines experience with emerging talent through the pairing of George Russell and exciting sophomore Kimi Antonelli. Russell is one of the most consistent performers on the grid, while Antonelli has shown blistering pace at times in the second Mercedes.
Mercedes traditionally builds cars that prioritize stability and consistent tire performance. The team often performs well at circuits that reward balanced aerodynamic setups. They have typically performed better at circuits with cooler temperatures, while struggling at hotter venues such as Singapore where they have historically suffered cooling issues.
George Russell has developed into a reliable team leader capable of strong qualifying and race pace. He will be hoping that this year's car is capable of delivering him a first World Championship title. Antonelli represents one of the most promising young drivers entering Formula 1, and was faster than Russell at times during the second half of his rookie season. The Italian will be looking to deliver more consistently in 2026.
This looks like it could be the year Mercedes return to the pinnacle of Formula 1. After struggling to adapt to the previous regulations, the Brackley-based team have built a rocketship for 2026. The team secured a 1-2 in both qualifying and the race in Melbourne, finishing 12 seconds clear of their nearest competitors Ferrari. Seemingly all that could halt their domination is the FIA ruling that their engine, which exploits a regulatory loophole, is illegal.
With Mercedes seemingly building a title-winning car in 2026, load up on Constructor's Championship and George Russell Drivers' Championship markets now. Given their dominance in qualifying in Melbourne, Russell Pole Position markets could also be good value. It is difficult at this moment to spot true value when betting on the Silver Arrows.
