The Saskatchewan Roughriders will head to Manitoba to take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Week 20 of the CFL season on Friday, October 17, 2025. Saskatchewan has already locked up first place in the West and could rest some of their starters. Winnipeg still has plenty at stake, as a win could help clinch a playoff berth for the Bombers. Before kickoff from Winnipeg, continue reading to get my Roughriders vs Blue Bombers prediction.
Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|
Winnipeg –7.5 | Winnipeg –355 / Saskatchewan +280 | 47.5 |
This game features a huge difference in urgency for both teams. Saskatchewan has secured the top seed in the West and can afford to rest some key players, while Winnipeg is fighting for its playoff life. The Bombers will want to strike early and exploit a possibly undermanned Riders squad.
Line movement has reflected the difference in how these teams might approach this game. The spread opened closer to Winnipeg -5.5 but has shifted to as much as 7.5 as bettors lean into Winnipeg’s motivational edge and likely resting of Saskatchewan's regulars.
Another key storyline in this game is the rushing attack for Winnipeg. Brady Oliveira has been impressive in recent weeks, averaging nearly 108 rushing yards per game over his last four outings. His output against Saskatchewan earlier this season was less than that, but Oliveira could benefit from any defensive starters sitting.
Saskatchewan is expected to sit starter Trevor Harris and rely on backup Jake Maier. Maier’s chemistry with receivers may be limited, especially given that multiple key wideouts are expected to be held out.
Zach Collaros returns under center for Winnipeg. He’s had an up-and-down season, one that has included injuries and inconsistent play. The Bombers will lean heavily on balance with their running game to make life as easy as possible for Collaros in such a big spot.
Score Projection: Saskatchewan 20 – Winnipeg 31
Win Probability: Saskatchewan 25% | Winnipeg 75%
Given the motivational edge in favor of the Bombers, I think that Winnipeg is the right side to back in this matchup. The Bombers should come out sharper in this game as they will benefit from better roster continuity against a team sitting some of its starters. The Bombers should win by more than a touchdown at home in a game they need to win.
