They will look to change that in Tuesday’s Mystics vs Sun matchup from Connecticut, though the Mystics will have to overcome some major injury adversity in order to do so.
Washington is going to be without both Brittney Sykes and Shakira Austin for this game at Mohegan Sun Arena. Austin is the best post player on the roster for the Mystics, while Sykes is by far their best guard on the offensive end of the floor. Without either of those players available, Washington may have a hard time keeping up with Connecticut despite hanging around against them in their first meeting earlier in the year.

Here, they will look to grab a ninth win in a row and remain ahead of the pack in the league standings for the year.
Connecticut did play a tight game against the Mystics earlier in the season, needing a huge fourth quarter to come back and win. But Austin played in that game for Washington, while the Sun shot just 2/20 from three-point range. Any sort of respectable shooting night, combined with the absence of Austin for Washington, should mean a bigger margin of victory for the Sun in this rematch.
