- The Sparks have two wins this season, but they are the worst wins you can get in the WNBA, as they beat the Fever and Mystics.
- Chicago is better both on the perimeter and interior going into this matchup, which should help them get a much-needed win at home.
The Chicago Sky and Los Angeles Sparks are both in the bottom-four in the WNBA standings heading into Thursday night. Both teams have just two wins on the season, making them desperate for a victory against one another in Chicago tonight. Continue reading this page to get our WNBA betting picks for this crucial Sparks vs Sky matchup.
This game will be played at 8:00 PM ET at Wintrust Arena on Thursday, May 30, 2024.
Los Angeles Sparks
The Los Angeles Sparks are 2-4 to start the 2024 WNBA season. And while that could be worse, some context is required when considering their wins. The Sparks have beaten the Indiana Fever and Washington Mystics, who are a combined 1-14 to begin this season. If the Sparks could get a win in tonight’s Sparks vs Sky matchup, it would be easily the best win of the season so far for Los Angeles.
For the Sparks to get a win tonight, a huge key will be keeping Cameron Brink out of foul trouble. With Azura Stevens out, foul trouble for Brink means way more Li Yueru minutes than the Sparks can withstand, or forcing Dearica Hamby to play out of position as a true center. In either case, the Sparks would be worse with Brink on the bench.
Chicago Sky
The Chicago Sky are 2-3 coming into tonight’s Sparks vs Sky clash in Chicago. They started their season with a 2-1 record after splitting two games with the Dallas Wings and upsetting the New York Liberty. But the Sky have lost two straight games, falling to the Seattle Storm and Connecticut Sun, as they aim to get back into the win column tonight.
For Chicago to get back to the .500 mark with a win on Thursday night, they need more production from the duo of Diamond DeShields and Marina Mabrey. DeShields and Mabrey combined to shoot 5/18 from the floor in the team’s most recent loss to the Storm. And while the Sparks are also lacking in guard production on offense, Chicago could really create some separation with even a decent showing from one of those two players.
