That said, no rule that says you have to decide between the two welcome bonuses; therefore, we'd encourage you to take advantage of both of these incredible opportunities.
In this comparison, we'll cover key aspects of each sports betting app, including welcome offers, betting markets, user experience, banking options, customer service, and much more.
By the time we're finished, you'll have all the information you need to confidently choose between bet365 and FanDuel, ensuring that your sports betting experience is everything you'd hoped for and then some! Now, let's dive right in.
Founded in 2009, FanDuel initially gained popularity as a pioneer in the world of daily fantasy sports (DFS). However, with the U.S. Supreme Court lifting a 25-year-long federal ban on sports betting in 2018, FanDuel expanded its offerings and seamlessly transitioned into one of America's leading online sportsbooks.
Building on its success in DFS, FanDuel swiftly adapted its platform to accommodate sports betting enthusiasts, providing a seamless and user-friendly experience. The platform offers a wide range of sports markets, competitive odds, and innovative features, making it an appealing choice for new and experienced bettors alike.
On the other hand, bet365, a globally recognized name in the online gambling industry, has a longer history, having been established in 2000. The platform has built a strong reputation over the years for its extensive coverage of sports events, live streaming options, and diverse betting markets.
After dominating the European markets (in countries like the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, and Austria) for years, bet365 set its sights on the U.S. and launched its platform here in 2019. Although it doesn't yet have the same name recognition and brand awareness as FanDuel, it seems to be gaining traction among American bettors.
Now, the question arises: which platform should you choose for placing your bets - FanDuel or bet365? Continue reading as we compare key aspects of both platforms to help you make an informed decision!

Is FanDuel the same as Bet365? While both are prominent sportsbooks, they differ significantly in terms of their geographical coverage. Bet365, a British online betting company, operates exclusively in seven states within the United States.
In contrast, FanDuel, considered a national titan, extends its operations across more than 20 states where online sports betting is legally permitted. The distinction lies in the scope of their presence, with Bet365 being more localized and FanDuel enjoying a broader nationwide reach. Understanding the geographic focus of each platform is crucial for users seeking sports betting options in specific regions.
When it comes to this next category, we have no choice but to declare a tie.
That's because bet365 Sportsbook has an edge with its extensive coverage of sports and leagues taking place across the world, while FanDuel Sportsbook takes the lead in terms of the alternate lines, player props, and same-game parlay options it provides.
For most bettors, both bet365 and FanDuel Sportsbook have wagers available for just about every game, matchup, or sporting event that you could possibly imagine.
From marquee matchups in mainstream American sports like basketball and football to obscure events in niche sports and leagues, these platforms strive to cater to a broad spectrum of interests within the sports betting community.
However, the advantage in this category unmistakably tilts in favor of bet365. At bet365 Sportsbook, you'll find a few extra gems in their portfolio, setting them apart from the competition.
The platform not only covers the expected and popular events comprehensively but also goes the extra mile with extensive coverage of international leagues as well as emerging trends, notably excelling in the fast-growing world of esports (CS2, DOTA2, LoL, COD, Valorant, etc.).
On the flip side, if you're someone who likes to go beyond the most common types of bets (e.g., moneylines, point spreads, and over/under totals), FanDuel is the way to go.
While bet365 is no slouch when it comes to alternate lines, player props, and same-game parlay options, FanDuel is arguably the best in the business and offers an unmatched variety of choices.
For example, in an NBA matchup between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons, the alternative point spreads range from -12.5 to +37.5 for the Pistons alone. This extensive range allows bettors to explore a wide spectrum of potential outcomes and adjust their strategy accordingly.
Whether you anticipate a blowout victory for the Cavaliers or a closely contested game with the Pistons outperforming expectations, FanDuel's alternative point spreads provide a level of precision unmatched by many other platforms.
Now, this next category will either be the most important or a complete non-factor when it comes to making your decision. We're, of course, talking about the availability of each sportsbook in various U.S. states and jurisdictions.
In the table below, you'll find a complete breakdown of where bet365 and FanDuel Sportsbook are legal in the United States today:
State | Is bet365 Available? | Is FanDuel Available? |
Arizona | ❌ | ✅ |
Colorado | ✅ | ✅ |
Connecticut | ❌ | ✅ |

As you can see, FanDuel Sportsbook has a clear advantage over bet365. It's currently available in roughly three times as many U.S. states as bet365; however, we can expect this disparity to narrow in the future.
That said, for the time being, if you live in a state where FanDuel is currently legal and bet365 is not yet available, this decision just became a whole lot easier for you!
Odds pricing is another important factor to consider when choosing an online sportsbook, and in this aspect, bet365 emerges as the winner. Bet365 is renowned for its competitive odds and consistently favorable pricing across a wide range of sports and events.
One of the key advantages of bet365 lies in its ability to offer highly competitive lines, ensuring that bettors receive maximum value for their wagers. The platform's commitment to providing attractive odds extends to a diverse range of markets, from popular leagues like the NFL and NBA to niche sports and international competitions.
However, from time to time, you may notice that FanDuel has more favorable odds for certain betting markets. Therefore, it's always best to shop around for the best odds in order to maximize your potential returns.
Both bet365 and FanDuel recognize the pivotal role of mobile apps and user experience in providing a seamless sports betting journey; however, it's clear that FanDuel has an edge in this particular aspect. Allow us to explain why:
The FanDuel Sportsbook & Casino app is currently rated 4.8 out of 5.0 stars (on over 1.3 million ratings) in the App Store and 4.7 out of 5.0 stars (on over 286,000 reviews) in the Google Play Store. Both iOS and Android users consistently praise the FanDuel Sportsbook app for its unparalleled user experience, making it arguably the best in the sports betting industry.
One standout feature is its modern and intuitive design, which provides users with a seamless and visually appealing interface. The app's user-friendly layout allows even novice bettors to navigate effortlessly through a myriad of betting options, ensuring a hassle-free experience.
Reliability is also a hallmark of the FanDuel Sportsbook mobile app, with a robust and stable platform that ensures uninterrupted access to live betting, scores, and account information. The app's swift response time and minimal downtime contribute to its reputation for dependability, a crucial factor for users engaging in time-sensitive betting scenarios.
Moreover, FanDuel's commitment to innovation is evident in the app's continuous updates, introducing new features and enhancements to elevate the overall user experience. This dedication to staying at the forefront of technological advancements further solidifies its position as a leader in the sports betting industry.
On the other hand, while we have to give FanDuel an advantage, the bet365 Sportsbook mobile app stands out for its own set of impressive features and user-friendly interface.
Boasting a 4.8-out-of-5.0 star rating in the App Store and a 4.6-out-of-5.0 star rating in the Google Play Store, the app's design facilitates seamless navigation, contributing to a positive overall experience.
The app's stability is also generally robust, although occasional crashes during peak traffic times have been reported, representing a minor drawback.
Despite this, the app's popularity endures, underscoring its appeal to users. With a strong balance of design and functionality, bet365 remains a formidable player in the competitive sports betting app market, offering a compelling option for sports fans across the United States and beyond.
When it comes to adding funds to your account and cashing out your winnings, both bet365 and FanDuel Sportsbook make the process effortless and straightforward.
However, FanDuel Sportsbook stands out as the clear winner because it offers a wider variety of banking options, providing users with more choices for managing their finances on the platform.

As you can see, FanDuel Sportsbook offers a few extra options for deposits and withdrawals, including Venmo, Apple Pay, gift cards, and Play+ prepaid cards. Although you should have no problem finding an option that works for you on either platform, it's always to have a bit more flexibility when it comes to managing your funds.

In terms of payout speed and withdrawal times, neither bet365 nor FanDuel Sportsbook has a significant advantage. Both platforms strive to process withdrawals efficiently, and the speed of payouts is generally comparable between bet365 and FanDuel.
The withdrawal times on both platforms typically depend on the chosen withdrawal method. Commonly used methods such as bank transfers and card withdrawals may take a few business days to reflect in the user's account. On the other hand, e-wallets and prepaid cards often offer quicker withdrawal times.
It's also important to note that external factors, such as banking regulations and transaction volumes, can also influence payout speeds, and these are beyond the control of the sportsbooks.
Ultimately, whether you choose bet365 or FanDuel Sportsbook, you can generally expect a reliable and efficient withdrawal process. If speedy withdrawals are a priority for you, considering the specific withdrawal methods and their associated processing times on each platform would be a smart approach.
Both FanDuel and bet365 Sportsbook excel in customer service, providing users with various communication channels, including live chat, email, phone support, and comprehensive FAQ pages.
Despite both platforms offering excellent customer support, feedback from current users (as well as our own experience) suggests that FanDuel has a slight edge in terms of quicker response times and more personalized assistance.
FanDuel's customer service is often praised for its efficiency and responsiveness. Users appreciate the prompt resolution of queries and issues, contributing to an overall positive experience. On the other hand, bet365's customer service is also highly regarded, but some users have reported slightly longer response times in comparison to FanDuel.
It's important to note that individual experiences with customer support may vary, and both sportsbooks maintain a commitment to providing high-quality assistance. Users seeking a platform with consistently fast and responsive customer service might find FanDuel to be a slightly more favorable choice.
After our thorough evaluation of these two sportsbooks, it's clear that FanDuel has the overall edge. An industry-leading mobile app for both iPhones and Android devices, wider availability in the United States today, excellent customer service, and a variety of convenient banking options are just a few reasons why FanDuel has emerged as the preferred choice in our assessment.
That said, bet365 is certainly heading in the right direction and continues to be a strong contender in the online sports betting market. With its global reputation, incredible welcome offer for new users, competitive odds, and extensive coverage of sports and leagues worldwide, it remains a compelling option for avid sports bettors.
Ultimately, the choice between the two platforms boils down to individual preferences and priorities. In fact, we would actually encourage you to sign up for an account with both bet365 and FanDuel Sportsbook. This would allow you to claim two different sign-up bonuses, try out each platform, and figure out which option works better for you!
