College Football Semifinal Preview
The first game of the playoffs is the Goodyear Cotton Bowl between the Cincinnati Bearcats and Alabama Crimson Tide. Cincinnati is the first non-Power 5 team to make the playoffs and are in their second consecutive New Years Six bowl. The Bearcats had an undefeated regular season that ended with an AAC Championship game win. Alabama, on the other hand, is making their seventh playoff appearance and are looking for their fourth championship. Bama went 12-1 and won the SEC Championship game. Alabama is a healthy 13.5-point favorite and I like the Crimson Tide to get the win.
The nightcap will be the Orange Bowl between the Georgia Bulldogs and Michigan Wolverines. Georgia went 12-1 in the regular season with their only loss coming to Alabama in the SEC Championship game. This will be the Bulldogs second playoff appearance. Michigan will be making their first playoff appearance after a 12-1 regular season and Big Ten Championship. Georgia is a 7.5-point favorite and I like the Bulldogs to win on New Year’s Eve.
