Last time out, South Kora got their World Cup campaign started with a scoreless draw against Uruguay. This was the worst game of the World Cup, so far, and I am confident no game will be worse the entire tournament. Neither team a shot on goal and South Korea looked to have no interest in attacking. Regardless, both teams were clearly playing for one point and that is what they walked away with.
Ghana
Ghana opened their 2022 World Cup with a 3-2 loss against Portugal. The first half is not something that will ever be discussed again, but the final 25 minutes of this game were electric.
Portugal got the scoring started in the 65th minute after Cristiano Ronaldo converted a soft penalty. Andrew Ayew tied it up in the 73rd minute, but two goals in two minutes gave Portugal a 3-1 lead in the 80th minute. Joao Felix and Rafael Leao slotted home the goals after brilliant passes from Bruno Fernandes. Ghana got a goal back thanks to Osman Bukari in the 89th minute and had a real chance to steal a point at the end. Ultimately, the Black Stars lost, but they will be happy with their response in this game.
