Como return to Serie A action on Monday after one of the biggest nights in club history. Cesc Fàbregas’ side beat RB Leipzig 4-1 in their Champions League debut on Thursday, extending a start that already includes league wins over Napoli and Genoa. Como have seven points from three Serie A games and have scored 11 goals across their last three competitive matches.
That form has made the straight moneyline extremely expensive. Polymarket currently prices Como around 79¢ to beat Parma. Rather than paying that premium simply for Como to win, the more appealing position is Como -1.5, currently around 55¢ on Polymarket.
Editor's notes

“I think Como are the right side here, but I would rather take the extra risk on the handicap than pay such a steep moneyline price. Parma have created very little through three league games, so a 2-0 type of result feels more appealing than simply backing Como to win.”
Parma’s Attack Has Been Too Quiet
Parma have scored just one goal through three Serie A matches, which gives Como a realistic path to a clean-sheet win.
Como Are Creating Enough To Win Comfortably
Como’s recent form has been strong, with goals coming from multiple players rather than one hot finisher, which makes them harder to contain.
No Value in Como To Win
The market already prices Como as a strong favorite, so the straight win does not offer much appeal. The handicap is the more attractive way to back the same overall read.

The handicap is more appealing than the moneyline because it asks Como to turn their superiority into a more convincing win, while avoiding the inflated favorite price on the straight result. The main risk is the scheduling spot after Como’s European match, plus the possibility that Parma sit deep and make this a slower, tighter game than expected.
The prediction is Como -1.5.
Polymarket's handicap market has Como to win by at least two goals at approximately 55¢, implying a 55% probability. Traditional markets are in a similar range, with Como -1.5 available around -125 at some books.
The appeal comes from the gap between what Como are currently producing and what Parma have shown they can create offensively.
Parma have scored just one goal in three Serie A matches. Their underlying attacking numbers have also been weak: roughly 0.75 xG against Cagliari, 0.25 at Juventus and 0.73 against Monza. They managed only four shots against Juventus and seven against Monza.
That matters for the handicap. Como do not necessarily need another four-goal performance. A controlled 2-0 win is enough.
The recent scorelines are eye-catching, but Como are not simply living off one striker.
They scored twice at Napoli before producing four against Genoa and another four against Leipzig. Against Genoa, Como had 20 shots, nine on target and roughly 1.8 xG, with Martin Baturina, Assane Diao and Nico Paz all scoring.
The Champions League win showed the same variety. Baturina, Tasos Douvikas, Diao and Máximo Perrone all scored against Leipzig.
That makes defending Como more difficult than simply stopping one focal point. Parma's likely 5-3-2 can crowd central areas, but Como have enough movement and creativity behind the striker to attack from several different positions.
Parma's lack of attacking production is probably the strongest part of the case.
They opened with a 1-0 home defeat against Cagliari despite generating only around 0.75 xG. Their performance at Juventus was even more limited: four shots, 15 touches inside the opposition penalty area and approximately 0.25 xG in a 2-0 loss.
The 1-1 draw with Monza finally produced Parma's first league goal, but the performance still raised concerns. Monza outshot them 16-7 and created approximately 1.72 xG to Parma's 0.73. Goalkeeper Edoardo Corvi needed to make several important saves.
If Parma again struggle to create one expected goal, Como have a realistic route to covering without needing an unusually high-scoring match.
Carlos Cuesta is expected to use a five-man defensive line, and that shape is the obvious threat to this trade. Gazzetta projects Parma in a 5-3-2, with Simone Lontani pushing for a start after scoring against Monza. Adrián Bernabé and Hans Nicolussi Caviglia are among the players carrying availability concerns. Como's only confirmed absence is long-term injury Jayden Addai.
Parma held Juventus scoreless until the 62nd minute, so they have already demonstrated that they can make a superior opponent work for chances.
That is why Como -1.5 is more interesting than it is comfortable. A deep Parma block could keep the match at 1-0 deep into the second half.
Como's 4-1 Champions League win came only four days before this match. It was also an emotional occasion: the first Champions League fixture in the club's history.
A flat performance would therefore not be shocking.
Still, Como enter Monday unbeaten in Serie A, with seven goals through three league matches, while Parma have taken one point and scored once.
At current prices, that difference makes taking the extra risk on the winning margin preferable to laying roughly -400 or paying close to 80¢ for the moneyline.
For Como -1.5 to cash, the favorite probably needs to score first and force Parma away from their defensive structure. Once Parma have to chase possession higher up the field, the spaces available to Paz, Diao and Baturina should increase.
The danger is a Champions League hangover combined with Parma successfully slowing the game down. A routine Como victory does not necessarily cover this number.
But Parma's attacking output has been sufficiently weak that Como should have room for error. With the moneyline already priced aggressively, backing Como to turn another strong performance into a multi-goal win is the better expression of the matchup.
Prediction: Como 2-0 Parma
