Group B gets going Monday morning with the tournament favorites Senegal facing big underdogs Zimbabwe. Senegal will end up winning the group, but Zimbabwe will have a shot at getting out of the group stage thanks to an easy draw.
Senegal is in the midst, or perhaps the tail end, of a Golden Era, and will look to finally lift the AFCON trophy. The Lions have made it out of the group stage the past two editions and are coming off a runner-up finish in the 2019 tournament.

Zimbabwe is set to make their third consecutive AFCON appearance, fifth ever, and will look to get out of the group stage for the first time. The Warriors have not won a game in this tournament since the 2006 edition in Egypt.

This Senegal team is loaded with talent and may have two of the three best players in the tournament. Perhaps the best keeper in the world, Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy will be in net for the Lions. The backline is loaded with talent from Bayern Munich, Napoli, PSG, and AC Milan and the midfield has talent from Marseille, Leicester City, and PSG. Zimbabwe does not have many notable names, but there is some good talent on this team.
