FanDuel Predicts uses a separate account balance from FanDuel Sportsbook. You cannot simply use money held in your sportsbook wallet to trade event contracts on FanDuel Predicts.
FanDuel Predicts accounts are carried by FanDuel Prediction Markets LLC, a registered Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) and National Futures Association (NFA) member. This means its banking and customer-fund structure is different from a traditional sportsbook.
Key points:
FanDuel Predicts allows eligible users to add U.S. dollars directly to their Predicts account.
Commonly available deposit methods include:
Additional payment options may become available depending on the account and current FanDuel Predicts banking setup. Always check the deposit screen in the app before funding your account, as available methods and limits can change.
Unlike some cryptocurrency-based prediction markets, FanDuel Predicts does not require users to buy crypto or fund a digital wallet before trading.

Once the funds are available in your Predicts balance, they can be used to buy or sell eligible event contracts.
Bank transfers can take longer to fully settle than debit card deposits. The app should display any applicable processing period before you complete the transaction.
Users can withdraw eligible cash from their FanDuel Predicts account using the withdrawal methods available to them in the app.
The main options include:
Available withdrawal methods may depend on how the account was funded and whether the payment method is eligible to receive withdrawals.
Before confirming a withdrawal, FanDuel Predicts may also carry out identity, fraud-prevention or account verification checks.
Withdrawal times depend on the payment method and whether additional account verification is required.
Debit card withdrawals can generally be faster than standard bank transfers, while ACH or online banking withdrawals may take several business days to reach your bank account.
There can also be a difference between:
For this reason, the estimated processing time shown in the FanDuel Predicts app should be treated as the most relevant timeframe for your specific withdrawal.
No direct sportsbook-to-Predicts wallet transfer should be assumed.
FanDuel Predicts and FanDuel Sportsbook are separate products with separate account balances. Money held in your FanDuel Sportsbook balance is not automatically available for trading on FanDuel Predicts.
If you have money in your sportsbook account and want to use funds on Predicts, you may need to withdraw or separately fund your FanDuel Predicts account using one of its supported payment methods.
This separation is important because the two products operate under different regulatory structures.
Despite sharing the FanDuel brand, Predicts and Sportsbook should not be treated as the same product when it comes to banking.
FanDuel Sportsbook is a traditional sports betting platform. Its payment system operates under the gaming rules and regulations applicable in each state where the sportsbook is licensed.
FanDuel Predicts offers exchange-traded event contracts through FanDuel Prediction Markets LLC.
FanDuel Prediction Markets LLC is registered with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) as a Futures Commission Merchant and is an NFA member.
As a result, customer accounts, trading funds and settlement are governed by a different regulatory framework from normal sportsbook wagers.
When you enter an event contract position, you are putting real money at risk.
FanDuel Predicts event contracts are subject to full margin requirements. In practical terms, this means the amount needed to cover the maximum potential loss on the position must be available rather than the position being highly leveraged like some traditional futures products.
If an event contract settles in your favor, the corresponding payout is credited according to the contract's settlement rules. If it settles against your position, you can lose the amount committed to that position.
Depending on the market, you may also be able to exit a position before final settlement.
FanDuel Predicts is not an unregulated prediction market.
Accounts are carried by FanDuel Prediction Markets LLC, which is:
However, users should understand that these protections are not identical to those provided by a normal bank or securities brokerage account.
Funds deposited with a Futures Commission Merchant are not protected by the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). Users should therefore read FanDuel Predicts' customer agreement and risk disclosures before depositing substantial amounts.
Because FanDuel Prediction Markets is a regulated financial-market participant, users may be required to provide information for identity and compliance checks.
This can include:
Additional verification may also be requested before deposits, withdrawals or certain account activities are approved.
These checks form part of FanDuel Predicts' regulatory, fraud-prevention and anti-money-laundering requirements.
FanDuel Predicts may carry the same branding as FanDuel Sportsbook, but its banking system should be treated separately.
Users fund a dedicated FanDuel Predicts account to trade event contracts, with debit cards and bank transfers among the primary payment methods. Withdrawals are also handled through the Predicts platform rather than directly through a FanDuel Sportsbook balance.
The biggest distinction is regulatory. FanDuel Predicts accounts are carried by a registered Futures Commission Merchant and operate within the federal derivatives framework rather than the standard state-regulated sportsbook system.
For most users, the banking process is straightforward, but it is important to check the app for the latest deposit methods, withdrawal options, limits and processing times before moving money.
