The Vegas Golden Knights head to Canada on Tuesday night to face the Winnipeg Jets in a big Western Conference matchup in the NHL. Both teams enter this contest trying to break free from long losing streaks. Will the first-place Knights get back into the win column, or is it time for the last-place Jets to break through? Here, I break down this matchup and give you my Golden Knights vs Jets prediction on the ice.

The Jets have endured a brutal run of results, losing nine consecutive games and only one of their last 13 contests. Their home record sits around .500, while overall they have struggled to stay competitive this season. Winnipeg’s inability to sustain offensive pressure has sent their season off the rails in a hurry.
Vegas has not fared much better of late, dropping five straight and winning only once in its last nine games. After beginning the season with promise, the Golden Knights have hit a rough patch that has seen their Pacific Division lead shrink and questions arise about their consistency on both ends of the ice.
Goaltending could be a pivotal factor here. Winnipeg’s net has seen Eric Comrie and other options called upon in recent weeks, but starter Connor Hellebuyck is expected to get into the crease in this matchup. Vegas has leaned on the likes of Akira Schmid and Adin Hill in net, but it should be Carter Hart in net for this game. Hart has a 3.28 GAA so far this season and he will need to tighten things up to help his team win this matchup.
For the Jets, Mark Scheifele remains a primary offensive driver with around 20 goals and close to 30 assists so far this season. Kyle Connor has also chipped in on offense, providing some consistency amidst the team's broader scoring issues.
Vegas counters with established stars such as Ivan Barbashev and Jack Eichel, each capable of changing the game. Barbashev’s ability to find open ice and Eichel’s playmaking create dangerous scenarios for opposing defenses.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Mark Scheifele | Over 0.5 Goals |
Ivan Barbashev | Over 0.5 Goals |
Jack Eichel | Over 1.5 Points |
Score Projection: Jets 2 – Golden Knights 3
Win Probability: Jets 42%, Golden Knights 58%
The Winnipeg Jets have been nothing short of dreadful so far this season and I expect that to continue at home against Vegas. Expect the Golden Knights to do just enough offensively to win this game, while the Jets take their 10th consecutive loss.
