✅ Playing back to backs doesn’t seem to phase this Minnesota group. The Wild are 4-2 in back to back situations this season as one of the better teams in the league on zero days rest.
✅ Vegas has struggled in 2023 as they are 3-5-2 in their last 10 games.
✅ The home team is 5-0 in the last five meetings between the Wild and Golden Knights. Minnesota’s 15-8-1 on home ice this season.

Vegas Golden Knights
Vegas returned from the All-Star break with a needed win to get back on track after a rough start to the 2023 calendar year. The Golden Knights dominated the Nashville Predators, winning 5-1 in the Music City before traveling to Minnesota.
The Golden Knights set the tone early against the Preds, scoring three first period goals to take the wind out of the sails of the hosts. Vegas’ put forward a full 60 minute effort, outshooting Nashville 30-17 and allowing just six total shots in the first two periods of play. That defensive effort allowed backup goalie Adin Hill to pick up the win in a relatively easy night of work.
Starting goaltender Logan Thompson will hope to see similar defensive help against the Wild. Thompson has a solid .913 save percentage this season and will be motivated to put forth a solid effort in a goaltending matchup against former VGK starter Marc-Andre Fleury.
Vegas is one of the better road teams in the league, with a record of 16-5-4 outside of Sin City. Home ice has been an issue as they are just 14-13 at home as the distractions of their adult playground hasn’t been much of an advantage in the 2022-23 season for the team.
Minnesota Wild
The return from the All-Star break has not been kind to the Wild, who have already dropped two games this week and suddenly need a big win over Vegas. A shock loss to the tanking Arizona Coyotes was followed by a 3-2 loss to the division leading Dallas Stars on Wednesday night.
Minnesota opted to go with backup goaltender Filip Gustavsson against Dallas to save starting goalie Marc-Andre Fleury for his former team in the matchup against VGK. Gustavsson made 33 saves in the loss but ultimately it was the offense that was the issue as the Wild scored just once on 39 shots.
A slow start was the issue in Dallas for the Wild. They were outshot 14-9 in the first period, giving up three goals in the opening 20 minutes of play. Once down 3-0, Jake Oettinger stopped pretty much everything the Wild threw on net. A better start at home against Vegas will be crucial if the Wild want to snap their two game losing skid.
