This Monday night in the National Hockey League, the Ottawa Senators will take the ice against the Winnipeg Jets in an all-Canadian contest at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg. The Jets enter as slight favorites in the betting markets after ending a three-game losing streak with a win in their last outing. They take on a Senators team that is tied for the fewest points in the Atlantic Division. Before the puck drops in Winnipeg, you will find my Senators vs Jets prediction below.

Winnipeg enters this game with positive momentum after a dominant 5-1 victory over the Washington Capitals in their most recent outing, snapping a three-game losing streak and giving their confidence a significant lift. Gabriel Vilardi had a multi-goal performance, and goaltender Connor Hellebuyck returned from knee surgery to make 24 saves in that win.
Ottawa’s form has been rough of late, having lost four of its last five games. The Senators posted a 6-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets in which Tim Stutzle scored twice and Drake Batherson had a goal and two assists. But they followed that up with a 3-2 loss on the road against the Minnesota Wild and will try to bounce back here.
For the Jets, the likely starter is Connor Hellebuyck. His return from knee surgery began with a strong performance against Washington, holding the Caps to just one goal. Hellebuyck’s presence gives the Jets a dependable option between the pipes once again. Ottawa’s Linus Ullmark has had solid moments, but his GAA has risen above 3.00 for the season. Ottawa’s ability to limit high-danger chances will be key to keeping this game close.
The Jets’ offense is led by Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor, both of whom produce consistently and can change the scoreboard quickly. Gabriel Vilardi’s recent scoring form also makes him a player to watch. For Ottawa, Tim Stutzle remains the most dynamic offensive weapon with 15 goals and 15 assists. Drake Batherson also contributes significantly on special teams.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Mark Scheifele | Over 0.5 Goals |
Kyle Connor | Over 1.5 Points |
Tim Stutzle | Over 0.5 Points |
Score Projection: Jets 4 – Senators 3
Win Probability: Jets 55%, Senators 45%
With the return of Connor Hellebuyck in net, I'm expecting the Jets to look like a completely different team than they have in recent games. I'll take the Jets to win this contest on home ice, as they should have the upper hand against the struggling Senators.
