This Monday night, the Nashville Predators hit the ice to face off with the St. Louis Blues in a Central Division matchup. Both clubs sit with identical win totals this season and they occupy the bottom two spots in that division. Nashville dominated their last meeting with a 7-2 rout, powered by a four-goal effort from Steven Stamkos. Will we see a repeat performance from the Preds, or will the Blues get revenge? Find out as I make my Predators vs Blues prediction for Monday’s game.

Key Storylines
Recent form
The Predators enter this game with momentum, having won six of their last eight and topping the Blues 7-2 in their most recent matchup. Nashville also earned a shootout win over the Avalanche and split their two recent games with the Avs on each side of their blowout win over St. Louis.
St. Louis responded to its loss to Nashville with a home win over Chicago in its last game. The Blues have won three of their last five games and will try to get a second win in a row tonight. For that to happen, they will need to be better on defense than they were four days ago against Nashville.
Goaltending
Goaltending could be a focal point in this game. Juuse Saros has had mixed results this season, and while he made 24 saves in the big win over the Blues, Nashville has surrendered goals in bunches at times. St. Louis’ netminding has also been inconsistent, with Jordan Binnington pulled in the loss to the Preds after allowing six goals before relief came. The team that can get some kind of consistency in goal could win this game.
Key skaters
Nashville’s forward group is led by Steven Stamkos, whose four-goal performance has helped him take the team lead with 12 goals on the year. Filip Forsberg and Ryan O’Reilly continue to make important plays on the attack as well. On the Blues’ side, Robert Thomas and Dylan Holloway have caused the most problems for opposing defenses and will try to keep it that way here.
