The Edmonton Oilers head into Sunday’s road game against the Montreal Canadiens carrying momentum after a strong offensive showing where they scored six goals in Toronto. Montreal has been competitive but inconsistent in recent outings. This Original Six clash at Bell Centre should deliver fast-paced scoring with both clubs featuring high-end talent on the attack. The Oilers come into Montreal riding an offensive surge, highlighted by a high-scoring 6–3 win over the Maple Leafs where Connor McDavid had two goals and an assist. Edmonton’s forward group has been producing at a strong clip and will try to get a second straight win against a Canadian rival here.
Montreal played an eventful game against the Rangers in their last outing, taking a 3–0 lead before eventually losing 5–4 in overtime. The Canadiens have shown they can score but remain vulnerable defensively. Both teams are on the second game of a back-to-back here and they will try to overcome that to pick up a victory in this important contest.
Goaltending will play a central role in this matchup. Edmonton’s latest win saw Tristan Jarry make 25 saves in his debut after arriving via trade. But we should see Calvin Pickard on the second game of a back-to-back here, while it is expected that Jakub Dobes will get the start between the pipes for the Habs at home.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|

Score Projection: Oilers 5 – Canadiens 3
Win Probability: Oilers 57%, Canadiens 43%
I'm going with the over as my best bet for this matchup between the Oilers and Canadiens. These teams have both been involved in high-scoring games of late and we should see both defenses struggle on short rest with backup goaltenders in net. Expect an exciting contest here and for the over to cash when all is said and done.
