Carolina Hurricanes vs Seattle Kraken Pick & Prediction - 3/2/2026

Updated March 2, 2026
The Carolina Hurricanes hit the ice against the Seattle Kraken on Monday, with both teams looking to earn key points as the regular season pushes into its final weeks. Carolina arrives in first place in the Eastern Conference and on a five-game win streak, while Seattle sits in a fight for a Western Conference Wild Card spot after a mixed run of results. Here, I break down Hurricanes vs Kraken and make my prediction for the game from a betting perspective.
Pick: Carolina Hurricanes to win
Confidence: 4 out of 5
Recent form
The Hurricanes have surged towards the top of the NHL standings with a string of five straight wins to strengthen their position as a division leader. Carolina extended its winning run to five games with a convincing 5‑2 victory over Detroit on Saturday. The success builds on a longer point streak that stretches across 12 games, where they have notched 10 wins and two overtime decisions. That consistent performance has kept them atop the Metropolitan Division and first overall in the East as they embark on a challenging road stretch that begins in Seattle.
Seattle’s path has not been as smooth. The Kraken are around the wild‑card cut line and have mixed outcomes in recent outings. They suffered a loss to Dallas earlier in the week as part of a tough road trip sweep, but rebounded with a 5‑1 home win against Vancouver in their most recent game, with Jordan Eberle contributing a multi‑goal effort. That combination of results shows Seattle can score in bunches, but its defense and consistency have fluctuated.
Goaltending
Goaltending is a key piece of this matchup. Carolina’s netminding has been steady, with Frederik Andersen making quality stops to support the Hurricanes’ strong transition game and scoring depth. But we should see Brandon Bussi between the pipes here. Seattle counters with Joey Daccord between the pipes, who has posted solid numbers at times this season, though not quite as good as Phillip Grubauer, who isn't expected to go here.
Key skaters
Carolina’s top forwards have been influential this season. Sebastian Aho leads the team in points with a combination of 22 goals and 37 assists, driving their sustained success. Seth Jarvis has also been a major contributor, and players like Andrei Svechnikov and Nikolaj Ehlers provide secondary scoring help. Seattle looks to Jordan Eberle as its offensive catalyst, along with Chandler Stephenson and Matty Beniers, each of whom can impact the scoreboard.
Score Projection: Hurricanes 4 – Kraken 2
Win Probability: Hurricanes 65%, Kraken 35%
Carolina’s strong form and balanced scoring make them a solid pick in this key late-season contest against a Seattle team striving to remain in playoff contention. While the Kraken have the capacity to score and protect home ice, the Hurricanes’ depth and consistency are likely to give them the edge in what should be an entertaining game that I think Carolina wins.
