Updated March 2, 2026
The Dallas Stars are set to visit the Vancouver Canucks on Monday night, in what shapes up to be a one‑sided National Hockey League contest. Dallas has been one of the most effective clubs in recent weeks, riding an impressive eight‑game winning streak, while Vancouver has struggled to find consistent form and arrives with a bleak recent record. With the Stars carrying strong offensive and defensive numbers and Vancouver exposed in multiple areas, the Canucks will face an uphill climb as they try to pull an upset in this Stars vs Canucks matchup.
Pick: Dallas Stars Moneyline
Confidence: 4 out of 5
Dallas is among the hottest teams in the league, currently riding an eight‑game win streak that is tied for the longest in franchise history. Their recent wins have covered a variety of situations, and they have shown balance by scoring timely goals while tightening up defensively. Over their last 10 outings, Dallas is 9‑1 record and averaging more than 3.5 goals per game while holding opponents to around 2.4 goals against.
Vancouver has struggled mightily. They have lost five straight games and are well under .500 with a record far slipping behind the teams in playoff positioning. Their home record is poor, with only six wins at Rogers Arena against 22 losses. The Canucks have difficulty generating consistent offense and struggle to maintain momentum for long stretches of games.
Dallas will lean on Jake Oettinger in goal in this game. A consistent presence in the crease will be instrumental if the Stars are to keep Vancouver’s offense at bay. For Vancouver, goaltending has not provided a reliable backbone and Kevin Lankinen will try to change that. Recent outings saw the Canucks give up a ton of goals, including a recent 5‑1 loss to the Seattle Kraken. Without a dependable goalie, Vancouver’s chances of slowing Dallas’s attack appear slim.
Dallas’s offense has been led by standout contributors, including Wyatt Johnston, who has posted significant goal and assist totals this season. The Stars’ depth in scoring has been crucial in extending their winning streak and maintaining offensive pressure against a range of opponents.
Vancouver’s Elias Pettersson remains the marquee offensive threat, but he has lacked consistent support from the rest of the lineup. Other forwards have had sporadic impact, but overall scoring remains an issue for the home squad.
Score Projection: Stars 4 – Canucks 1
Win Probability: Stars 72%, Canucks 28%
Taking into account recent performance, roster health, and statistical output, the Dallas Stars appear well-positioned to win this matchup convincingly. Vancouver’s challenges this season have been evident, and facing a confident and cohesive Stars squad on the road only compounds their hurdles. For bettors looking for a strong play, I think backing Dallas on the moneyline offers value with a high likelihood of success.
