The Boston Bruins head out west to face the Los Angeles Kings on Friday night. The Kings are playing at home in Crypto.com Arena and come into the game favored by most oddsmakers. But the Bruins have offensive firepower and will try to surprise the Kings in this matchup. Before the action begins on the ice, continue reading to find my Bruins vs Kings prediction.
The Bruins are currently struggling. They have lost three of their last four games, with their most recent defeat coming on Wednesday against the Anaheim Ducks. Boston gave up four goals in that game and will try to tighten things up defensively in this contest. The Kings have lost two games in a row, including an overtime loss on Thursday night to the San Jose Sharks. The Kings will have to rebound on the second night of a back-to-back if they want to avoid a third straight defeat.
Boston’s goaltending has been shaky. Jeremy Swayman's GAA has dropped slightly below 3.00 for the year, but the Bruins need better from their group of goaltenders if they want to be a more serious contender in the Eastern Conference. Los Angeles will go with Darcy Kuemper in net after Anton Forsberg played in the first game of the back-to-back on Thursday.
David Pastrnak is still the straw that stirs the drink for the Bruins offensively. He has 27 points and 16 assists to lead the Bruins in those two categories this season. Adrian Kempe has occupied a similar role for the Kings. He has a team-high 20 points and 13 assists, making life easier for the team's other goal-scoring threats.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
David Pastrnak (Bruins) | Over 0.5 points |
Adrian Kempe (Kings) | Over 0.5 points |
David Pastrnak | Over 2.5 shots on goal |
Score Projection: Bruins 2 – Kings 4
Win Probability: Bruins 30%, Kings 70%
The Kings have a lot to overcome on the second leg of a back-to-back here. But regardless of whether or not the Kings can turn things around and win tonight, I think we will see this game go over the total of 5.5 goals. Boston can score in bunches but is also giving up goals regularly. I think we see that same game script play out here and for this contest to see at least six total goals scored.
