The Carolina Hurricanes head into a tough road test on Friday when they face the Winnipeg Jets at Canada Life Centre. Carolina (13‑5‑2) leads the Metropolitan Division with an explosive offense, while the Jets (12‑7) are in third place in the Central and playing well of late. Before the puck drops in this important matchup on the ice, continue reading to get my Hurricanes vs Jets prediction.
Carolina is rolling, holding a 13–5–2 record and leading its division thanks to a high-octane offense. Their most recent game ended in a 4–3 shootout loss to the Minnesota Wild, even though they dominated that game in terms of shot attempts. Winnipeg has won three of its last four and they are at home, where they’re tough to beat. The Jets’ home record is 6-3-0 and they will try to improve on that mark with a victory in this huge test.
Connor Hellebuyck continues to be the backbone of the Winnipeg defense. He has a 2.51 GAA, which is below his usual standards. That speaks to just how good Hellebuyck has been in recent years. Frederik Andersen and Pyotr Kochetkov are sharing goaltending duties for Carolina. Kochetkov has been sharp when called upon, and he is likely to start here as well.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Sebastian Aho | Over 0.5 Points |
Seth Jarvis | Over 0.5 Points |
Mark Scheifele | Over 1.5 Points |
Kyle Connor | Over 0.5 Goals |
Score Projection: Jets 4 — Hurricanes 3
Win Probability: Jets 65%, Hurricanes 35%
I am going to take the WInnipeg Jets to win at home as a slight underdog. The Jets have won two-thirds of their games at home so far this season and they have a rest advantage by an extra day over the Hurricanes going into this matchup. Expect the Jets to look like the fresher team here and for them to get an important win on home ice.
