The Anaheim Ducks head to Pittsburgh to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night. The Ducks have been one of the most pleasant surprises in the NHL this season, sitting atop the Pacific Division entering Tuesday's play. But the Penguins are slight favorites heading into this contest and will try to cut the Ducks down to size. Before the action begins on the ice, continue reading to get my Ducks vs Penguins prediction for Tuesday.
Pittsburgh enters the game having collected points in six of its last seven outings (4‑1‑2), showing stability and consistency as they begin a season‑long five-game homestand. They have worked their way into fourth place in the Metropolitan Division and will try to continue moving in the right direction with a win here. Meanwhile, Anaheim is coming off a 7‑1 rout of the Chicago Blackhawks, powered by a two‑goal effort from Leo Carlsson. The Ducks have gone 6‑4‑0 over their last ten games and they are in first place in the Pacific, something very few saw coming going into the season.
The Penguins are expected to lean on Tristan Jarry in goal, who enters with a 9‑2‑1 record in his NHL starts this season. He has a 2.54 goals‑against average and .913 save percentage. His consistency has been the backbone for Pittsburgh’s success so far. Anaheim's goaltending situation is a question mark heading into this game. We could see Ville Husso get the start here with Petr Mrazek and Lukas Dostal both out of action for now.
For Pittsburgh, captain Sidney Crosby remains the offensive spark plug, entering with 18 goals and 12 assists. He’s been especially dangerous lately, tallying five goals in his last five games. On the backend, veteran defenseman Kris Letang has been producing, with a multi‑point streak and five points in his last five games. For Anaheim, Carlsson leads the charge with 16 goals and 22 assists. His confidence is high after that big outing against Chicago.
Player | Prop |
|---|---|
Sidney Crosby | Over 0.5 Points |
Leo Carlsson | Over 0.5 Goals |
Kris Letang | Over 0.5 Assists |
Score Projection: Pittsburgh Penguins 4 – Anaheim Ducks 2
Win Probability: Pittsburgh 68%, Anaheim 32%
I'm going to take the Pittsburgh Penguins to get a win at home over the Anaheim Ducks in this matchup. The Ducks have been a great story this season, but they have been middling on the road throughout the year. Pittsburgh should extend its run of collecting points here and should move back into the win column tonight.
