Travis Kelce Prop Prediction #1: Under 6.5 Receptions (-139)
The first of two Travis Kelce Super Bowl props we are taking for this game is for him to log under 6.5 catches against the Philadelphia Eagles. Kelce was held in check by the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game, catching just two passes for 19 yards. In the Super Bowl, we don’t expect him to be quite as ineffective, but we don’t expect him to more than triple his catch count from that game either.
In this game, we expect Patrick Mahomes to have to go to his receivers on the outside more to beat Philadelphia. After all, it’s no secret that Kelce is a focal point of the Kansas City offense. Philly will look to take Kelce and the run away and make Mahomes beat them with his legs and with a group of receivers that hasn’t had to carry the load on offense as often as the receivers on the opposite sideline.
Travis Kelce Prop Prediction #2: Under 63.5 Receiving Yards (-109)
Along with the under on Kelce’s receptions for Super Bowl LIX, we will also take the under on receiving yards for Kelce in the big game. Kelce stayed under 63.5 receiving yards in 10 of his 18 games through the AFC title game win over Buffalo. While he should get close to this total, we don’t expect him to go over it in a game where we think both defenses will be the stars of the show.
Perhaps just as interesting as how Kelce does on the field in this game is whether he opts to call it a career after the game. Kelce has said that he does not plan to retire at the conclusion of Super Bowl 59. But if he helps the Chiefs to win a historic third straight Super Bowl, we could see him change his mind as he certainly has nothing left to prove on the field.
At this time, there are no regulated sportsbooks that are offering wagering on whether or not Kelce will call it quits following the Super Bowl. Those sorts of bets are more typically found at unregulated offshore sportsbooks, which we do not recommend using.
